    Definitely goes vs. Cubs...

Both Cubs and Astros bnoth have 9 games left vs. Teams with .500 or above.

Giants, Padres, and Marlins all have over 12 games vs. teams with .500 record.

Giants and Padres still have games vs. each other as well vs. Dodgers.

Marlins has to play Braves 6 times, as well the Cubs

We have 6 games vs. the Cards and 3 vs. Giants

Giants.....Barry Bonds, unlike most players, CAN carry an entire team on his back. Plus Alfonso's going through his once-a-year power streak lately.

The Cubs still have four or so more games left than we do. It's still very much theirs to lose.

The biggest road block is the Astros themselves. They won't win out (wouldn't that be cool?), but they must stay extrodinarily hot to win this thing. I son't expect the power pace to maintain. However, they must continue to play smart and agressive baseball. They simply cannot afford any length of a losing streak.

It will come down to the Marlins and Astros in the end. SF doesn't have the pitching to maintain and Alfonzo won't keep his pace up for much longer. The Padres are too inexperienced and have a brutal schedule. The Cubs...well...they're the Cubs.

Marlins. You have to go with the team who won it all last season. The Giants are like a sideshow with Bonds. Walk him and they are beatable, and the Cubs starting pitching may be a little overrated.

How does the wild card work? Only the top team in the wild card go to the playoffs?
