Technically he would still be making more in Houston due to no income tax right?

Yea on the surface it seems like not much more to match but I guess we dont know what guarantees we offered. Also this FA Nick has shown that he has a set cutoff for what he's willing to offer and won't go over it.

Texans tried hard to keep Rankins, losing out to Cincy by $1m.

hosting buffalo reserve DT Tim Settle today.

interested in Armstead but he’s got a hot market per Aaron Wilson.

Makes sense. Texans let Collins go because he wasn’t great against the run, but a good pass rusher at DT. Autrycan be there DT on passing downs and Settle their run stopper.

People overestimate the income tax burden for these guys. Most state income tax rates are under ten percent and they only pay it based on home games. So about 50k per 1M at most. Highest rate in Ohio is 3.75.

Arik’s wife is from Buffalo. I learned this yesterday in the 49ers sub. I also read somewhere that the Bills are out of salary cap space. He also had surgery on his knee for an MCL issue on top of the foot problem.

Does that mean we can still negotiate with him now?

Let's hope he can stay healthy if we sign him. Lots of injuries to his right side.

Those are terrible odds. If he’s not cheap, I hope we pass and spend what we have left on safety/corner.

Agree. Just grab the best DL with our #1 pick and sign a safety/corner of he's not cheap. Honestly, I want Nelson back. He had 63 tackles, 48 solo tackles, and 4 INT last year.

Nelson would be fine if we get a good safety.
