Looking back at some of the posts in this thread, This was predictable. But it's still sad.

Just started rereading through this thread after @raining threes mentioned this outcome might have been predicted and saw this post. I must have missed it the first time and this is up there with one of the most liked posts I’ve seen. Hilarious. Ok, carry on.

Seriously. At the same time I haven’t heard really anyone in the media bring him up in a long time. I was excited for this pick and he would be a welcomed sight if he were to return.

Tough luck on the Metchie/Horton picks so far.

Wow. Crazy news. Glad he's doing better.

Also crazy, as a pro athlete, it got to stage 4.

I will root even harder for this dude now.

Imo he is likely a couple years away to being full speed again, if he ever truly is. Stage 4 is no joke and he still has to complete his treatments. Great news for him regardless.

I feel like if any scenario should reward a team with a compensatory draft pick, its this one

From stage 4 to remission in 3 and a half months? That's amazing!

Great news, glad to hear he’s in remission! If my experience with chemo at his age is any guide, he’s going to need a minimum of six months to get full functioning again assuming he’s been doing heavy chemo. Another six months or a year to get into game shape. He can push that timeline faster if he has no long-term issues due to the chemo, like neuropathy, but it would be best if he can take a longer, slower road to build back over time

Pretty incredible that they kept such a tight lid on this that there were never even any rumors posted about his cancer (or at least I never saw any). That's gotta be something players appreciate in a team they play for. I hope he can make it back. Sounds like his situation got worse than Metchie's did and Metchie didn't look great this past season, so if Horton gets back on the field at all will be pretty impressive.

Do the Texans have an inordinate number of players that get cancer at an early age? Metchie, Horton, Quessenberry? I know it's only three but that seems like a lot for professional athletes.

Glad to see he is in remission.

The NFL has some amazing medical doctors at their disposition, in that they can get the elite doctors for any procedure.

Andre Hal had Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Came back after 4 months, played half a season and retired the following year.
4 players is definitely an eyebrow raising number
