If you can't get Bowers...hell, he's the same swiss army knife kind of guy Great blocker, great hands
John Harris was on a podcast and said GMs expect Nick not to stay at 23. He suspects we move down a few spots and use the draft capital from moving down to move up in round two. We’re definitely going defense with the first tho and likely WR with the second. He said something interesting about the DT. When asked about Newton, said he scared of the jones injury and that those 300lbs 6’0 - 6’1DT disrupters like Newton are easy to find. So much so that we have the exact same player in Malik Collins on the team. It’s the big pass rush/run stop 6’3 - 6’5 310lbs that we lack and are at a premium in the league. Definitely thinks we should splurge on Wilkins (this was before the Justin M. Contract). Not big on Barkley. Wouldn’t be mad but there’s better ways to spend money. Thinks WR Tyler Boyd would be a fantastic signing. He was already a WR3/2 with Bengals and his arrival might light a fire under Hutchinson and Metchie’s butt. Plus he has Super Bowl experience.
Holding out hope that we somehow draft T'Vondre Sweat in the 2nd Round. At 6'4 360+ lbs, he's the best run-stuffing 2-Tech in this draft and would likely be our starting DT for the next 7+ years. As a Longhorns homer, I'd absolutely love to have him in H-Town. He'd be perfect for us in Round 2. We'd likely have to move up to get him though. Don't think he makes it to Pick #59.
From the Athletic (Diante Lee) *Bowers drops to 18 here, I would 100% trade up for him. He can play inside and outside, even with Schultz here. 23. Houston Texans(from CLE): Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU Adding offensive talent on the same timeline as star QB C.J. Stroud should be Houston’s priority, and Thomas (4.3-second 40-yard dash at 6-foot-3) would be a worthwhile bet for Bobby Slowik’s passing game. He’d need time to develop into a more precise route runner, but his athleticism and big frame will get him out of trouble early in his career https://theathletic.com/5323254/2024/03/11/nfl-mock-draft-2024-free-agency/?

Yes... come on board the Guerendo train! What's even better is if you break down his split between the 20 & 40 - it's 1.79. (Elite is considered anything around 1.81 - 18.4). I call it the Afterburner measure. Meaning if this guy hits daylight.... C-YA!
New draft wish list (pre Pro Days) Trade up for CB Quinton Mitchell (get to mid-1st by offering 1-23 + 2025 2nd + 4th + possibly Pierce or Woods) 2-59 WR Xavier Legette 3-86 RB Isaac Guerendo 4-127 TE Tip Reiman possibly WR/TE Johnny Wilson
so don't need Edge in the 1st round of this draft anymore. Need to hope one of the DI or CBs fall to us. If not then pick best WR or trade back? I might be up for trading up in 1st round to get a CB or DI
I want the best CB we can get without giving up picks. Our secondary needs a big boost. Add a WR, RB, and other defensive player (No particular order) after a CB.
Glaring hole at CB (I mean, I guess Okudah?) Mitchell will be gone. Nate Wiggins? Kool Aid? DeJean? (Is he a CB or S or both?) Would love a guy like Brian Thomas but WR feels a little like luxury and the class is just so deep. (Harrison. Odunze. Nabers. Thomas. Mitchell. Worthy. McConkey. Corley. Franklin. Pearsall. Legette. Roman Wilson. Tez Walker. Polk. McMillan. Cowing. Burton. McCaffrey. Rice.)
