I wonder what his next contract will look like. Stingley/Sneed would be one of the best CB duo's in the NFL. But I'm guessing he's going to be out of Caserio's price range.
Yeah, I get the point they were trying to make, but Suh was integral to that Super Bowl run they made. His signing definitely wasn't a bust.
It wasn’t his Super Bowl year that was questioned. It was Miami giving him an unprecedented 5/$100 per yr after his 4th year with Detroit and then letting him go after three years cuz the contract was an albatross relative to his production for the Dolphins. His Tampa year was a one year deal. Which was fair.
It’s Jason La Canfora so… https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2024/03/07/free-agency-storylines-nfl/ -Many executives predicted Ravens second-team all-pro linebacker Patrick Queen will head to Seattle, now coached by his former coordinator Mike Macdonald. Queen would assume the role Roquan Smith had in Baltimore as the “Mike” linebacker, while former Carolina Panthers safety Jeremy Chinn is viewed by some in the Seahawks organization as the closest thing they can find to Ravens hybrid safety/big nickel defensive back Kyle Hamilton. One longtime evaluator believes Chinn is the best value free agent in the entire class. (“Kyle Hamilton-light,” he said.) The Eagles are also expected to make a significant move at safety. -The 49ers are working to extend receiver Brandon Aiyuk, and if and when they do, “I think they’ll trade Deebo [Samuel],” one of the GMs said. -Multiple GMs said the Cleveland Browns made it clear they are open to dealing one of their top cornerbacks as they try to balance salaries after years of heavy spending. -Not everyone I spoke to is convinced the Kansas City Chiefs are going to bring back star defensive tackle Chris Jones, but the industry very much expects the Chiefs to up their spending on the offensive side of the ball, with receiver an obvious need. -Look for the Houston Texans to come out swinging in free agency, with several GMs predicting former Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Christian Wilkins will be part of their haul.
Not well enough to justify his $20 mill per + 60mill guaranteed. It’s why he got cut after three years. He literally reset the market for a defensive player after JJ reset it the previous year iirc. To put it in today’s NFL economy he got something like 6/$200 + $120 guaranteed. He was good but not like he was in Detroit and certainly not worth the crazy money Miami dropped on him.
Man, I love everything about Deebo Samuel’s heart, effort, and game, maybe as much as any player in the league. Shelf life would have to be a concern though with his physicality
Hard pass on Deebo. He's had ONE YEAR in his career where everything went right, got paid for it and his reputation remains legendary to this day from that one season. Deebo is not who you think he is. He's a good #2 receiver.
This could've had something to do with the talent around him. Something that wouldn't be an issue with WA/Collins around Wilkins.
Don't need to cut him... but I would be VERY open to trading him To Philly for IDL Milton Williams seems like a win-win. Milton has profile that Meco likes in his iDL & Williams played for new Asst coach. Woods gives Philly a veteran WR presence to provide stability.
