ClutchFans Game Thread: Clippers @ Rockets 3/6/2024

Typical young team collapse. Missed free throws, lots of in and out shots, and the Clippers literally didn't miss a shot from like the 10-2 min mark of the 4th quarter.

I honestly don't even think the Rockets defense was that bad in the 4th, they just literally didn't miss a shot. Crazy that that was the same team that completely choked the game away in Milwaukee the other night. Of course they catch fire against us.

 

Playoff contender that is old is playing tons of games in their last push for better seeding on the road...

Mixed results would be normal.

 

Ugh , I missed the entire game expecting it to be at 7 PM on the West Coast, and then I logged in at 7:30 and saw the dreaded headline “Clippers Rally from down 20”

I thought it was a road game. on that note, I just got tickets to the final game of the season, which happens to be the last regular season Clippers game in the Staples/crypto.com era. I’ll be sitting directly above the visiting team tunnel looking for high fives from Sengun and Boban.

 

You make some excellent points. Coaching matters. Personally, I see no reason to not give Whitmore more minutes. Smith was also a hot player as you pointed out.

people are upset with this loss? it was a good, close game against 3 hall of famers. make our free throws and it could have had a different ending.

What Made Rudy great was not his Xs and Os
It was his reading of the game

Rudy didn't care if it was pretty . . . he cared if it worked
Rudy didn't seem to overly care if people got their "minutes" or "shots" up

Rudy was a master at. . . . Its worked 6 times in a row. . . RUN IT AGAIN!!!

Zubacs, Plumlee and Theis are servicable at best
Clippers need an upgrade there

Doris Burke was horrendous the entire game. Brought up the Clips were playing through a long road trip like but never mentioned the Rockets were playing on the 2nd night of a back to back.

 

Exactly right. The Rockets played pretty well, even in the 4th. The Clippers were just better. Harden and Leonard were both on their A-game in the 4th. Hard to stop that.

 

I remain convinced that our offense is stagnant/stationary because we don't have the legs to have a lot of ball movement on O. And if we featured a lot of movement and passing, we would likely turn the ball over more. We grind to a halt, and in general, our shooting flames out.

 

Been out of town and tried to watch Spurs and Clippers recordings but the Spurs only would splay the condensed 10 min version and the Clippers wasn’t even available.

Anyone else with league pass able to see the Clippers ESPN recording? Thought national games were available in 3 hours from game ending.

 

I would have loved if Ime played amen on harden the whole game. I truly believe Harden would have given up the second half instead of putting the team on his back for a pretty long stretch.
