...because he literally does most everything else to help the team win. You sound like you'd hyper-focus on Giannis' FTs or Jokic's defense and would argue they're bad players because of nitpicks.
Also because he can score in other ways. Shooting will get him to star level. The others are asked to score so that the team can score 100 pts on a nightly basis.
The more I see of Sengun and Smith, the more I'm convinced they need to slide down to the 3/4. Sengun can't be a center, his lack of above the rim agility and length is too big of an issue. Smith could probably be fine at the 4 next to a standard C, but not next to Sengun. The guy we bring in to play the 5 will need to be able to shoot, or Sengun will need to develop his own. I love the overall progress Sengun's made, but if we're gonna try to move forward with him as a core guy we have to do so addressing his current fatal flaws. I think Smith can handle the 3 just fine and slide to the 4 when Alpi is off the floor. I know people will bring up Draymond for undersized 5's, but the GS teams were unicorns in a lot of respects.
I am not sure about the 3/4 thing, but Sengun/bari 4/5 is not a good fit. Bari can play 4 with another center, Sengun can play 5 with another 4 and with a better backcourt, but the current set up with bari/sengun 4/5 with the current guards won't work for sure.
perhaps @Salvy can make a new banner to hang from the rafters . . . the Shaq-compared-Alpi-to-Pau-Gasol Award or something to that effect
Progression For all the "Sengun will never..."..."be this or that..."...archetype..."..."...too short..."...athletic limitations..." morons.
I got a GREAT IDEA! Let's trade him to one of those teams for one of their star level players. Paul Gasol was 7'0 - 7'1, had a low post game, mid range and could shot from 3. He was soft but he could score from all three levels.... THATS NOT Sengun. Im hoping other teams are believing the Sengun hype
"Pau Gasol could shoot the 3" The same Gasol that shot 483 3's in 18 years. And not once shot more than 20 3's in a season until he was 31. boy folks just love to make up stuff
I mean, I literally posted their stats (at same age/same season in their careers) lol and Alpi is better from three than Pau was then, and beats him in all other stats except blocks. But some of these haters just come across as quite low IQ folks. Why should they care about facts when they already have an opinion.
All ready better than Sabonis at what? Simmer down...I love Alp, but some of you are a bit glossy eyed, lol
Changes nothing for us now. Also, he was not as good as Alpi at the same age (or even when you compare their third seasons).
