More than brought back from the dead. This program is closing in on being one if the top ten schools for every elite player to consider. If they win the Big 12 and manage to run very deep in the Dance, they be set for massive bragging rights in this state. Every Houston kid serious about learning hard nosed basketball will be a Coog if coach wants them.
I want Sampson to sign some 3 pt. assassins and a seven foot center. Just saying. We have elite rebounding and defense, but our offense is always semi elite. I would like more size and some dead eye shooters. Past experiences in the NCAA Tournament see us eliminated by bigger teams or better shooting teams. The Grimes team got blown out by Baylor's snipers and the Sasser team got the Miami long range missile treatment.
Coach always says he recruits scores and teaches defense. Too bad Hinton left the year he left I think that team really could have done damage had he stayed. Injuries will always challange a teams depth too.
To be fair, I don’t think anyone was beating Baylor in that Final Four or Miami in that game vs UH. Baylor kept shooting that way against that talented Gonzaga team and beat the crap out of them too. When teams just don’t miss at all from 3 like that, it’s insane.
Cincy tries to play with two 7 ft guys. Which will never work vs UH. They get next to nothing from them length > height
protect the ball rebound make FTs If you can't do those things, UH will beat the hell out of you every time. Even if you can, they still might. I wish Huggins was still at Cincy just so I could watch the postgame "handshake" b/t him and Sampson.
that one play where cincy got like 3 offensive boards and couldnt cash in about sums it up brutal game to watch
