Well, first of all, that's not true, Sengun is 21, Green is 22. Secondly, Sengun has a history of being a quality basketball player, Jalen has a history of being a terrible basketball player. Jalen is currently the same age KPJ was when the Jalen Green fanbois were crucifying him despite being SIGNIFICNALTY better than Jalen has ever been.....at a certain point even the fanbois need to realize that youth is not an excuse as Jalen gets played off the court by younger guys like Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore. It's well beyond time for the excuses for the draft bust to end.
Just like Dillon Brooks is? Also Sengun is having a decent season this year offensively, still sucks on defense. If we're comparing history Jalen has better upside. He just needs to be used properly Eh, youth was a excuse for Sengun his whole career by his whiny idiot fans ("he's still a kid learning"). We also had to hear how much racist Silas didn't use him properly his first few seasons. So by you're own logic they're both kids
1. Brooks is horrible, yes 2. Sengun is decent on defense, nothing special but not horrible 3. Jalen has never even come close to being as good as Sengun at any point, you can even compare year 3 jalen to rookie sengun and it's not close
There's a difference between saying a guy is young and not a finished product while they are already looking good and making the excuse that they are young while they are one of the worst players on the team. Making excuses for Jalen Green is similar to making excuses for Daishen Nix last season.
When your top pick comes from G League Unite and you're expecting fireworks igniting all over the court, don't be surprised if you end up with nothing more than a sprinkler.
I think it's exactly like @jim1961 said in this thread or a similar one: we will have Jalen just as long as we still value him more than other teams. People can criticize the NFL's 49ers all they want, but I do love this about them: once they get people in house, they quit valuing draft order completely. They got rid of their wonderkind Trey Lance for peanuts (to Dallas), even though they traded up to get him, all in favor of keeping their very last draft pick Purdy. Purdy is simply the better professional quarterback, so the team moved on.
Bulls did but it was basically lowballin us with Zach Lavine* for Jalen plus 5 draft picks* plus salary match. basically they wanted draft picks and Jalen was part of salary match
Yep. Think he has to go 100%. At the deadline I was like 60% wanting to trade him but this offseason I think he has to go. Has to be a get what you can for him and move on, I still feel confident that he's not a negative asset in that we have to move off picks to get rid of him, he's still young enough for teams to think they can fix him, but clearly not working here. We also have much better options at wing in Cam, Amen, Tari if he can even play again. We have a lottery pick as well to use and capspace to sign a vet wing like...we have options to improve there. It just isn't working here and his mentality doesn't fit Ime's hustle/grind/defense style any ways.
