I was talking to my friend who is a family friend of Dean Phillips and she is pretty angry at him for running. Most of the DFL (MN Democrats) are too.

I can under why he decided to run and do think he has a point regarding that there shouldn’t just be a Biden coronation and a contested primary could actually benefit Biden. I’m disappointed though that this might completely cost him his political future. He’s a good representative and think he would make a good Governor or Senator.

If this story is true very disappointing. I really thought Dean Phillips was above cheap stunts like this.

It is illegal. Charges will be forthcoming if this is true.

That too. If his campaign actually did this and if Phillips was aware of this he really should’ve known better.

My wife knew him before he ran for office. She doesn't have very nice things to say about him. With that said, he's really just being grifted by campaign consultants. He's not directly involved in any of this. He hired a bunch opportunistic "professionals" who took the money and spent the rest on ridiculous things like this.

Either way, I'm glad to see him go. It really irked me when he did the Paul Wellstone cosplay (with the little bus and all) in 2018 to win the primary. The irony of course is that he represents the Western Suburbs. His real story as someone who inherited his wealth and family businesses would've been just fine there. But he's always been a phony personality so his "presidential campaign" is going exactly as I thought it would.

I listened to a podcast with Ackman before the Michigan primary, and he was still very confident that Biden would perform poorly and that Dean could win. Ackman mentioned that Biden was polling very poorly, and he believed Dean had a good chance of beating Biden there. Phillips ended up finishing behind Williamson.

I never thought he was mocking or cosplaying Wellstone with his bus in 2018.

I've met him once and don't know him personally but was impressed with him. Maybe he got bad advice and maybe he believed his own hype but it does seem like he's ruined his political future over this.

Phillips is likely to finish behind “Uncommitted” in MN today.

Phillips is admitting he’s ruined his political career. I was at a wedding this weekend with some people who know him and they believe he has another career path lined up already.

Disappointed in both Dean Phillips and Krysten Sinema. They both had a lot of potential to due more especially helping to work across the aisle on legislation. I don’t know if they got bad advice, too full of themselves, but they did appear to ruin their political futures.
