Those of you wondering why it's so hard to just bench Jalen need to realize that he's one of the eight highest draft picks in franchise history, and of the other seven, six are in the Hall of Fame. John Lucas might have gotten there, too, if he hadn't snorted his way out of contention.

Benching Jalen would be admitting a mistake of the highest order, and it would be an organizational decision, not a simple coaching one. I'm sure it wouldn't sit well with Tilman, and especially not with Stone.

Not counting Stevie Francis since he was a drafted for us, I suppose. Coincidentally, Francis is likely Jalen's ceiling.

    I'd forgotten Stevie. Co-ROY, 3 All-Star appearances.

I wouldn't be surprised if Stone and Tillman are pressuring Ime to keep starting Jalen. If that is the case, then he'll keep starting this season. But Ime will pull him when needed (like close game in the 4th).

Fred, Dillon, Jabari, and Alpi are our set-in-stone starters. Some have talked about starting Amen or Tari over Brooks. That's not happening, at least not this year. We didn't pay Fred and Dillon to bench them and they both deserve their starting spots.

I'm against starting Amen because he can't shoot. He can be the leader of the second unit this year. Cam could start but I don't think it happens this year.

    It is what it is.
Everybody can see what Jalen is. Don't need a benching to tell you that.
You do whats best for the team, not one player.

I'm just saying that Jalen's ego is far from the only one involved here. Ime/Stone/Patrick/Tilman would all have to get over themselves first.

I voted "no", but would like to give it a try. Time to see how Cam will do as a starter and how Jalen will do off the bench. Big Cam fan, but would not be that surprised if Jalen may win back his position.

If somebody makes a mistake, isn't the best thing to try to correct it?

It's not like they can hide the mistake and pretend it's not there.

Choosing a prospect who didn't pan out is one thing. GMs can't predict the future. Not correcting something once you have data would be irresponsible.

But the best thing for the team might be to preserve his value for a possible trade this summer.

Ime has the balls, but Stone has the Fertitias stoned, so anything goes pass him. Ime or anyone else wont have any real freedom unless Stone is put in jail.

Morey was not perfect. But he's not afraid to correct a mistake quickly. (Sometimes too quickly, like trading Marcus Morris for a SRP.) Didn't let ego get in the way.

The starting 4 - Not including Jalen Green - has been one of the best units in the NBA statistically.

When you add Jalen to them, the numbers plummet to the bottom.

Statistically, Jalen's play matches the eye test - Bad.

Jalen fooled all of us. Cried how hard he works. Then suddenly stopped giving a damn. Who coddled him?

I voted "yes" to a change.

That didn't mean an immediate change out of the gate which I didn't really expect but I do expect change before the season ends.
They'll probably run Green out there for the next 5 and then we'll see a change - that probably comes along with Green being on the injury report.

No, he didn't fool all of us, by a long shot.

They should have made the necessary changes. Now it's just going to be more of the same.
