Any case in which Crow would have an interest now has an appearance of impropriety at least.

Why would received gifts be accounted for on someone's taxes? You don't pay taxes on gifts received. If you have given someone a very large amount of money (more than $18,000 per year per recipient plus a 13 million dollar lifetime exclusion per individual grantor), you pay taxes on gifts given.

    “wrath of the holy god”

This will impact those who can’t have children and seek assisted reproductive technologies like IVF. It’s likely that clinics in AL that freezes embryos will begin to shut down.

I'm sure Thomas would be happy to comply with a lend/lease program for his services.

Again, not surprised this is what you take from the conversation...not him being probably the most corrupt justice on the SC.

On any court lower than the USSC those would be considered improper.

The US Supreme Court has an ethics issue.

This is the media legal coverage wanting headlines. While it does create huge political problems, the Alabama Supreme Court is correctly interpreting Alabama law. It's up to the state legislature to fix their state law problems, which does show a fissure in the pro-life movement as some do believe IVF is incompatible with their beliefs while others are for it.

We might see more fruit there, but the entire court operates without an effective check. So the entire court has a problem.

Is it even possible for the state legislature to fix it without a constitutional amendment? Since Alabama supreme court interpreted the 2018 amendment regarding 'unborn children' to include embryos, wouldn't it take a state amendment to explicitly to have a carve out for embryos before implantation?

This will impact the US economy. Big Biotech will think twice (even more so)before investing or spinning up any R&D in the States.

It's supposed to be populated by the best of the best, with high ethics that we should trust to self-govern. I disagree with plenty of rulings, but that's mostly fine. I'm not okay with an unethical Court that is influenced by wealthy individuals.

Why is the Chief Justice making an argument based on the bible instead of relevant state law?
