Wow, The Waterboys. I have a very fuzzy memory of going to either a U2 or REM concert back in the mid-80's and The Waterboys were opening up for them. They were handing out cassettes in the parking lot and I remember really liking it. It was called something about the sea?
Only took me about 20 years, but today I came to the realization that My Chemical Romance was a ****ing great band. I was in my early 20s the first time I heard them and remember kind of liking this song, but ultimately just wrote them off as another teeny bopper emo band of the early 2ks and didn't dig any deeper. I do still think most of those bands suck, but MCR isn't even in the same conversation. Been listening to their second album a lot the past week. Apparently, their third one is even more highly regarded, so I'll be checking that out next.
