Well, not lose at all cost tanking, but tanking in the sense of not winning at all costs. Because we would lose games just based on lack of experience, defensive rotations, Amen's broken jump shot, Amen's inexperience at running point against a starting level NBA defense. So what i mean is choose development over winning.
We had no chance WITH Fred and Tari (who is good but wow do we overrate the guy on this board). We have a team with zero all stars and none on the horizon. At what point do we need to look in the mirror and realize that the reason we lose to the pathetic Raptors, Blazers, Bulls, almost to the Pistons is because they are our equals talent wise. Jalen, Jabrari, Amen, etc. are all at best regular normal non-all star players. Fill any other guy on this team….Jeff Green Jock Tate Holiday etc. and you realize we are absolutely no better than almost all teams in the league. We have mediocre talent and it is good enough to compete but not win at a playoff level. Cam, Freddie, and Sengun are the best of the worst on this team, but aren’t taking us to the promiseland next year or anytime soon. Casino man Tilman is great at talking us up and getting our hopes high at his slot machines, but it is all a facade as the reality is that he’s sold us a bag of $&@/ with this pathetic 5 year plus rebuild.
i think Cam will be an all-star. He has saved this franchise. Now, everyone else is expendable in a trade for a star at the right time.
Don't worry, we're up to a 40% chance of a top 4 pick now!! It's low-key tanking. Lose to Tor to put them within striking distance of BKN, and let ATL slide past us.
Yeah, I get it. Honestly though, we aren't winning any playoffs with this roster, so I would be happier seeing them give Cam and Amen a few more minutes each game, just to get them more experience. They have the most potential to be the starters we need in a couple years. I think Jalen should get less minutes moving forward honestly. I don't see him in our future 2 years from now, unless it's from the bench.
Exactly. All these people who say we should have been pushing for a play-in spot don't seem to realize we're much closer to a high draft pick than we are to the playoffs.
It is not so much that the Rockets are tanking, it's that Stone has put together a roster that really sucks and has little depth at key positions. The fact that Jeff Green plays heavy rotational minutes as the backup 5 should tell you all you need to know about Stone's ability to put together a good roster. ****, the throw-in we got for dumping Porter would have been a better rotational player than Jeff Green but they just cut him for no ****ing reason, and he's got a and eFG% of .586 and a TS% of .621 granted it's limited minutes on NO, but still he had upside.
Udoka definitely was in on the tank path this game, putting Jalen back in in the 4th. Guaranteed loss.
Might work in the Rockets favour considering the year Jalen was drafted it was apparently a crazy talented draft, and well they drafted a potato at the #2 in that one.
