I saw the Police at the Texas Opry House back in the day, sitting at wooden tables with pitchers of beer. They had a Roxanne look a like contest for fun. All for $3, and I still have the ticket. Some of my favorite concerts were the cheapest, at little clubs in Houston. I saw Humble Pie and many more bands at the Agora Ballroom. When I saw Adele at the Warehouse Ballroom for her first tour her voice carried through that ballroom. She was still a kid, awestruck by the audience and taking pictures to remember it. I saw U2 at the Music Hall for the War tour. Bono marching up and down the aisle of the Music Hall was an experience to remember. I saw the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and the Beach Boys at Jeppesen Stadium at U of H. My biggest regret was not seeing Pink Floyd when they played there. I can't remember why I missed that show. I was so lucky to have grown up when concerts were very affordable entertainment for a high school teenager and college student, even at the bigger venues at the Summit and Astrodome. It used to be so easy to get good seats, when it was first come first serve, and all tickets were the same price. Good times. Online ticketing and ticket scalpers destroyed all that.
