Houston Rockets Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: -0.9 ppg, -2.3 rpg, and +0.7 apg. Incoming Players Davion Mitchell 25 year old, 6-0, 202 lb PG from Baylor 3.6 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.8 apg in 12.6 minutes in 2023-2024 Outgoing Players Jae'sean Tate 28 year old, 6-4, 230 lb F from Ohio State 4.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 17.9 minutes in 2023-2024
He's 6'8.5" in shoes with a 7'2" wingspan according to scouting reports--averaging nearly 2 blocks per 36 minutes right now. But yes, it is a moot point now!
I'm not huge on trading any premium assets this season unless it's a really good deal on the table getting us a guy who will fit into the long term plans. I would look to be improving on the margins though with any of the following pieces available- 2nd round picks, Jae'Sean Tate, Aaron Holiday, Jock Landale, Reggie Bullock. I imagine Tate is the only guy with any sort of real value of those. Would love to acquire a backup PG upgrade, back-up C for the rest of the season, and/or a decent 3 point shooting wing. I think it'd be huge for the teams confidence to push to make the play-in, and we're close enough to be able to make that push without a huge splash. One interesting thing is that it's my understanding with the new CBA that non luxury tax teams have an advantage in the buyout market, I think anyone making over the tax payer MLE who gets cut can't sign with a tax team (could have that wrong but that's my understanding). There's a couple names on this list I'd very definitely be interested in to cover some of these holes, and it'd be nice to do it without giving up any pieces- https://www.spotrac.com/news/2024-nba-buyout-market-2160/ Also some names on that list I'd gladly trade a Tate and/or Jock + maybe a 2nd for and avoid the open market all together
I think most of those guys (at least the ones we would be interested for) will be traded not bought out. Harris would be a really good get in my opinion, but not sure if Landale, Tate and 2nd round picks would do it.
A list of lower-key players who are over 6'7, who shoot the 3ball pretty well, and don't seem terrible defensively forwards Julian Champagnie -SAS Patrick Williams - CHI Herbert Jones - NOP Marcus Morris - PHI Cedi Osman - SAS bigs Isaiah Stewart - DET Duop Reath - POR Jalen Smith - IND I think we need to get Jeff Green out of our rotation, his lack of shooting is killing us. Eason returning might fix that, but we need the depth regardless.
To Bulls: Jalen Green Jeff Green Reggie Bullock Jock Landale Jae'Sean Tate To Rockets: Demar Derozan Patrick Williams Andre Drummond Bulls experiment with a White/Green backcourt. Tate plugs into William's spot. Not really any guaranteed long term money being swapped. Rockets use Brooks at 2 and Williams at 3. Derozan as primary bench scorer. Drummond gives different look as backup 5. Ime coached Derozan his first season in San Antonio so they have an existing relationship.
Missed probably my favorite forward we could trade for, Deni Avdija--6'8", good defender, passer, 73% in the paint and 39% from three. I would even consider giving up the '24 BK pick for him
He has been horrible at 3s in his career. Maybe he turned a corner, but could also be a small sample size.
I love this. I think he's being held back in Washington. He could be a super role player jack of all trades... possibly potential for alot more
'Twas the night before the deadline and all through the house not a rumor was stirring not even for Danuel House. I know, that was turrible.
The Rockets and Lakers had shown interest in Drummond as well, per sources, but both teams have been categorized as less likely outcomes for the 30-year-old big man. https://sports.yahoo.com/nba-trade-...-gaining-steam-on-trade-market-000412165.html
Or Sengun and those picks for Chet Holmgren? Gives us a rim protection, plus he can shot from 3pt line
