I think a first or second round WR makes Brown and Schultz (to a degree) expendable. Nico/Tank/Rook with someone like Colby Parkinson (at half Schultz's price) works for me.

Nico, Tank and Brian Thomas, for example, is a nightmare for opposing defenses. Parkinson would be a sneaky signing as a better blocking TE with some skill as a receiver too.

And the main thing is CJ can grow along with the same core group of WRs

Parkinson could be a huge redzone threat and he’s another Stanford guy like Dalton

I think Nelson is gone at that $$$. I also think Noah Brown is out.

Nice work on the #s tho & being realistic.

Also, we can restructure guys (Tunsil, Howard, etc.) to open up space.

I'm really reliant on details of NFL contract workings. The cap is harder. restructures to push money forward are ?, but it doesn't go away. Can Trades involving Dead Cap include compensation or other players? If not, How can you buy your way out of Cap Hell?

I thought there was a way to convert salary into a signing bonus?

Saints have a master class in maneuvering under the cap & kicking the can down the road.

@red5rocket is correct that the NFL allows teams to convert salary into SB (can be concerning for older players + injuries)

The Texans traded Osweiler and threw in a 2nd so the Browns (who had cap room) would take him off the Texans' books. It's rare, but it happens. They got the idea from the NBA IIRC.

Last season Schultz signed for $6,220,575 but took roughly 75% ($4,720,575) in bonuses leaving his ccap number at $2,845,575
Last season Rankins signed for $9,602,935 but too roughly 55% ($5,250,000) in bonuses leaving his cap number at $4,352,935
Last season Singletary's $1,000,000 (32%) bonus did not affect the his cap figure from equaling his cash figure of $3,125,000

Schultz: $11,300,000, if we assume Schultz follows the same pattern of receiving roughly 75% of his salary ($8,475,000) in bonuses, should bring Schultz' 2024 cap figure to $2,825,000.
Rankins: $9,900,000, if we assume Rankins follows the same pattern of receiving roughly 55% of his salary ($5,445,000) in bonuses, should bring Rankins' 2024 cap figure to $4,455,000.
Singletary: $5,300,000, if we assume Singletary follows the same pattern of receiving 32% of his salary ($1,696,000) in bonuses, potentially could bring Singletary's cap figure to $3,604,000.

Texans Current Cap Space: $57,394,290 (no cuts or restructures yet)
    Schulz, Rankins, Singletary: $10,884,000
    Potential Remaining Space : $46,510,290

The nfl salary cap isn't real, Nick is about to put his nuts in the league's fuucking mouth.

Nah man, need a shift elusive back. North-South old man Henry won’t cut it on this offense.

also please, tell me who missed more games out of the two players over the past 3 years? You’ll surprise yourself! LOL

I like Barkley over Henry also, but let's not arbitrarily make it sound like Henry is injury prone like Barkley was because he got hurt 3 years ago and only played 8 games. Why not look back 4 years?

One thing you can't take away from Henry is that he has been a tank his whole career. One of the most reliable RB.

With that said, Saquon over Henry for sure at this point in time and offensive scheme.

Even 4 years same deal. Nether player is injury prone but had an injury missed season during their careers

Annoying to play against but someone who you’d have on your team.

If talks with Greenard arent fruitful I would look at Epenesa as a possible replacement. Maybe split Greenard's money across Epenesa and Bryce Huff from the Jets?

Demeco is big on rotation so I would like that idea. I believe we already have our Nick Bosa in WAJ.

For me this depends on the money and yrs on the contract.

Henry solves the RZ/short yardage woes though.

Or bring back Barnett and draft an edge.
