Yes! I like this. Only way it could've been better is if Adam's was fit to play this season. But, we did have to lose Rockets legend Oladipo which I'm super sad about lol .
Bizarre scoop of the day. Check out that last sentence: https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/sport/50...has been sidelined for,for the 2024-25 season. @WestendMassive
Also, I dont see any way Adams isn’t a top tier backup in this league even after the injuries. If healthy, he’s closer to a respectable started.
When healthy, he was lowkey around the 15th to 20th best center. Remains to be seen how well he can come back though.
Swapping two players who can't play is fun. Seriously, I like Steven Adams. But I was hoping we could use Oladipo's salary to get a star.
At this point I am just glad Rafael is not screwing things up.......to be honest. Without Morey, 2nd rounders are just chump change for them. Currency. It sucks to have to track Adams' recovery now ....instead of the Grizz. But hey we got the next OKC Thunder back. And Thunder are likely picking a rebounder with the pick swap or trading it.
Interesting trade. The best thing about this trade is that there is limited downside. If Adams never plays again, he can still be rolled into a deal for a more expensive player that fits the Rockets needs next year. I don’t think we “won” this trade because Memphis had to move Adams for expirings. They did that and got 3 second rounders. However - from the Rockets perspective, three #2’s are not a #1 and if Adams is healthy next year he can potentially help the Rockets win before being dealt at the deadline. Plus if Adams plays well he can have value to the team taking him on. The KPJ debacle has now cost the Rockets 5 second rounders. My best guess is that Stone knows he will likely be getting second rounders back when he moves Tate. The Rockets aren’t done, they will move Landale and likely still look for a center for this season and a back up point guard.
That was my thought as well -- the team was fairly rich in 2nd rounders with limited space for development and so it made sense to move off some -- especially if the expectation is Tate fetches multiple 2nds.
I do not know how severe knee injuries are to a big man but if you are hoping that Adams is playing like his old self...... But I guess they are hoping he can at least play 15 minutes again. You get a former good player who cannot shoot 3s which is limiting the bench play with non shooter Amen. But at least he is strong.
Will never happen, but we can throw out a gigantic lineup of: PG Amen Thompson 6'7" SG Jabari Smith Jr 6'10" SF Alperen Sengun 6'10" PF Steven Adams 7' C Boban Marjanovic 7'4" or Amen 6'7 Tari 6'8 Jabari 6'10 Sengun 6'10 Adams 7'
