Any details on which 2nds are outgoing @J.R. @BimaThug @Clutch

We had 3 2024 2nds and 2 2025 2nds. Hoping at least one is Via OKC

I like the move if he can get healthy--ideal backup for us next season. Didn't give up any assets that really matter. Bummer we won't get him back this season though.

I think it’s more about salary

we have no idea how effective Steven is going to be coming of surgery as a big dude over 30

I hope for the best , but he may be cooked

for the record I loved him in OKC

Nice trade, props to Stone. Adams is a great backup center for quality minutes.

After evaluating this trade I conclude that it’s not bad.

setting aside the sunk costs of two 2nd rounders to preserve the former KPJ cap slot, and building in the acknowledgment that Stone is not a good asset manager:

giving up two 2024 picks that likely had limited value and that we couldn’t really use, as well as a mid-late 2025 2nd is not a lot to give up for Steven Adams; he’s only 30.

1). It preserves $12 mil in expiring cap that can be aggregated and used this summer on in a consequential trade.

2). If he’s not traded we get a very good backup center next year that could really help us.

    my concerns are:

1). His medical. Will he come back healthy next year and play; and play well?

2). He doesn’t help us this year and I think it’s important we play to win. I suspect there’s another trade coming seeing as Landale is still on the roster. If we do bring in someone that can help this year in another trade that will be good.

I’ll confess that I grew to like Steven Adams after watching him play physically hard-nosed basketball over his career. If he can still play he’ll be worth those 2nds.

2nd rd picks in that NBA get thrown around like nothing, and are frequently outright sold. Will never lose a wink of sleep over them.

I love the deal, preserves tradeable salary for next season and possibly adds a very useful rotation player.

Meh. Literally does nothing for this year, gives us a likely one year rental for next season. I don't love it or hate it. We definitely need to get bigger NOW. Nice insurance for later I guess.

Without giving up a 1st for a backup center is a win.

He’s 6 years younger and half the price of Brook Lopez….good deal in that perspective.
