Tate, Oladipo, Landale, and Bullock is enough salary to take on Brogdon and Robert Williams

• Route Tate to a contender for some 2nds to Portland
• We add a BKN pick, or a BKN swap and 2nds to Portland
• We then use the open roster spot to sign a guy like Biyombo

 

A surprise deal for De'Aaron Fox could be an interesting possibility, since he is rumored to be disgruntled right now and demanding a trade publicly is no longer permitted.

Can't think of too many guys who are at all possible to be available that I would give up Tari, Amen, or Cam for, let alone Jabari or god forbid, Sengun.

Jalen is of course expendable for any all-star at this point.

Doesn't seem like most young stars would be on the market--and if we're dumb enough to give up the farm for a guy in or near his 30s, we deserve to suck

If Ime wasn't here I'd be more worried that we're about to take out some ribs from the slow cooker a few hours too early just to have them ready to eat 2 hours before people arrive to the party... but I trust Ime's judgement

If we land someone like Lavine for Green/picks though I'll start to lose se of that faith

 

The irony, and especially with Stone's trading record, will be we trade Jalen for somebody who Stone thinks is a future star, then Jalen will blow up with another team who plans to leverage his actual strengths, and the guy we trade for will probably get injured and be out for a season.

 

Fox didn't sign an extension because he is trying to get All-NBA and become supermax eligible this summer. If he qualifies for the supermax, Sacramento is definitely going to give it to him.

Leaving Sacramento would mean he gives up the supermax, which would lose him ~$50M. Seems unlikely in the extreme.

 

I agree, just spitballing. Can't think of too many guys (or really, almost anybody at all) I'd describe as "stars" who could make sense for us--kind of a weird headline.

 

If he's available he's definitely worth a young player or two and picks. I doubt Kings would want Green since they have finally tasted winning so it'd have to be a 3 way deal with Hawks or something where Green/picks/Salary to Hawks, Trae to Kings, and Fox to Houston. All three teams could be winners there.

Actually a really interesting trade idea--I could see that, if Fox wants out. Supermax has definitely done a good job of curbing All-NBA candidates' trade requests as @carl_herrera pointed out.

 

I am again curious why Rockets trade news are always weeks behind other teams'

 

Article makes it abundantly clear who the core of the team is, and one name notably left out of those who are considered cornerstones. Good to get confirmation that the front office aren’t idiots (thanks to Udoka influence).
