I think he was in a program where he was expected to be the primary scorer, so it takes awhile to make necessary adjustments.

I don't know if this is the future lineup for the Rockets

    but if

    Amen
    Green
    Whitmore
    Jabari
    Sengun

ends up playing together for a few to several seasons. that is 3 players that can pass, 1 player that does not need the ball in their hands, and Cam... how much does he even need to pass? He should improve to some extent. I just don't know how much he would need to. I could also be way off

Maggette is a good comp, similar size at 6’6 with a 6’8 wingspan. Maggette was also huge as in Anthony Mason type shoulders and used that to bully ball which Cam also does. Cam definitely attacks the rim with the same aggression but I think Cam gets up even higher. I don’t see the Carmelo comp as being that close, Carmelo was closer to 6’8 or even 6’9 with a 7’0 wingspan. Carmelo’s game was to back guys up and shoot over them or cross guys over with his incredible handles. Carmelo also took time to initiate plays which slowed the offense down. Cam seems to make decisions immediately and is ready to shoot or drive as soon as he gets it. He doesn’t have the same handles or the back to the basket game but Cam is a natural score, has a smooth shot and can get it off in an instant. Personally I see more of a Mitch Richmond comp also at 6’6 and with a 6’8 wingspan. A player that used his quickness and explosiveness to get by opponents and he had a pure stroke. Richmond was also fast on the break and knew how to split between defenders while using great strength to get his shot off. Richmond was a good defender and playmaker. Although Cam is a willing passer he isn’t yet a playmaker but I can see him improving here as he gets more experience. He isn’t the tunnel vision player he was made out to be but looking at stats would say otherwise.

Lets say Brown is not the brightest of the bunch. Whitmore, IDK yet. Therefore higher ceiling. The rest I agree.

Cam not being able to pass is totally fine inside an Alperen Princeton that desperately needs homerun hitters.

His explosiveness reminds me of Terrance William but with a better shot.

He has the handles to be a secondary playmaker on the wing on the kickout/closeout. At this point in his career, he needs to know when to shoot that 3 or pass for a better shot. That's it. We don't want him taking james harden step backs when there's a wide open guy in the corner or someone in the paint.

But i am really hoping he can one day be james harden lite.

Hard to say, but a good one is a more explosive, more aggressive Corey Maggete with a much better jump shot. A RICH man's version.

Spot on Joe Rocket! He passes when he needs to pass and shoots when he needs to shoot. By no means is he a turnover machine, so it’s the same false narrative I’ve been fighting since draft day with this guy. If you shoot .500 and don’t make turnovers then you are passing effectively and adaquately.

it's definitely the guard version of Carmelo. Young Melo was pretty athletic for his size too. Both are equally explosive in terms in their ability to just pour in buckets. Both have pretty jump shots. Both have similar sort of tunnel vision on the offensive end. Both very similar on the defensive end as well lol.

How do you watch this and see not the resemblance?

Cam is very fluid on offense. He can get to his spot and shoot over defenders. He can put a defender into the spirit world if they fall asleep. TMacs handle was better as a young player, but Cam has some moves. Neither player was a good defender as young NBA guys - Cam still has time to improve that aspect, while Tracy never did.

Ant has lived up to the hype no doubt.
