Udoka sounds like he has great faith in Amen, and he may be eating some of FVV’s minutes soon, which I believe will make us more dynamic with their different styles. Besides shooting he’s just so well rounded as a rookie.

Ime didn’t say it outright, but it does seem like Jalen sometimes struggles with confidence—though it seems like our staff is working to build him up and teach him to be a better basketball player. I think it’s much needed.

Hopefully tomorrow will be another good one

 

Jalen is a front funner, he needs to not worry about missed shots, don't hang your head keep playing, it is why I like Cam so much - Cam is the Honey Badger, and Honey Bader don't give a **** !

Landale has been low key playable for three games in a row now. Still a week away from the trade deadline, I wonder if he can still prove to be useful so that we can save assets that would go out for a backup big. He was a really good player last year for the Suns until that ankle injury completely fked him up this summer.

 

I fear I see a wee bit of Mack Jones in Jalen.

I believe JG needs a go-to shot. Something to fall back on when things are falling back on him.

in baseball it’s often a bunt and often in basketball it’s an easy play-up. It’s whatever it is that resets the emotions, the muscle memory.

 

When I think of a go-to shot, it usually accompanies an already good offensive player that needs something for double teams.

The entirety of his future will depend on two shots before any other shots:

- 3PT shot, which he ruins by taking overly challenging shots
- Finishing at the rim with contact, which he’s not doing well. He’s actually great at beating his man and getting a foul. The problem is he misses almost all those shots. Then he tanks his overall TS% by acting like he’s Kevin Durant in the midrange when in fact he’s 41% and has always been below average at this.

If Jalen gets these two things down, everything else will fall into place. We have to take it back to rookie level with him. Then we can think about middies and go to shots and even better passing. Then defenders will respect him and he won’t be a drain on spacing (including his own spacing).

Just needs to make his shots simpler, less variety, take fewer shots and build on the two things that are critical to him. Avoid difficult 3’s and mid range jumpers, he’s garbage at those and doesn’t seem to get it.
