I wish we could say this about Jalen. "He cant shoot the 3 but man his defense is something" But no he cant shoot the three or play defense. Its like a younger worse version of devin booker or zach lavine. Right now Zach is in his billionth season and still has no trade value cuz he looks good at time offensively but sucks defensively and is a chucker.
It’s been time to start experimenting with the starting line up. Let Amen get a shot as a starter over Green for at least a game or two and see how he performs. Commit to the defensive identity that Udoka wants.
Why are some of you so sensitive any time some one talks about Jalen? i also mentioned Fred in this thread thats not about him. No one cried about that. Jalen fans are as soft as he is. If they are on the team I may relate a subject to them even if the post isnt about them specifically. Its called CLutchfans not "only talk about one player fans" Stop being a sensitive baby.
Lol thought the same thing AMEN needs a bigger Goal not Hole. Ocean of a Hole to make his shots though. @Jontro expert.
Still confused as to how this guy sometimes looks like he has never dribbled a ball before. I still think he’ll be good but sometimes he really fumbles.
I've been thinking about Amen's role but more in the future. How could he and Sengun exist offensively? The closest comparison for me is Draymond and Looney. 2 non shooters. Draymond initiating from the top. Looney in the dunkers spot. Heavy screening. Elite cutting and ball/player movement. With GS they had a great playmaker in Draymond. We may have 2 with Sengun and Amen. Surround them with Jabari, Eason, and probably Cam and I think that they could be in title contention with the right bench in a few years. Top 3 defense if not #1 ranked D and a top 10 offense. That's my vision and my hope for the future. I hope Amen gets more consistent run the second half of this season. Just off of his defense alone he shouldn't see any less than 20 per game imo down the stretch.
Nobody is gushing about Amen? He scored 13 points on 6 FGA, dished out 8 assists, grabbed 6 rebounds in 23 minutes.
Considering he's a rookie who can't shoot and has very loose handles, Amen is like a car that can still go 70 mph on the freeway even with two flat tires and a 3rd running low on air.
Most exciting thing for me was his ability to get into the paint and consistently hit the right shooter amid traffic with a pass in rhythm. I still see him as a point guard and anyone saying "he's just a wing like Iggy" is wrong.
And, only 1 TO. I see Amen averaging triple doubles one day. Such a savage on both ends, and has a feel for the game beyond his years...let's it come to him.
He moves in such an unorthodox way that it's easy to forget how crazy athletic he is, even by NBA standards. Honestly, while he's a far inferior player to Fred at this point, he's a far more entertaining player to watch when running the offense. He pushes the pace, crashes the boards, airballs some threes and plays his ASS off on defense. And he also seems like a great mature kid and a wonderful teammate to boot. I truly hope we can help him develop a consistent jumper
I really impressed with his defense tonight. He's probably one of the best defensive players on our team not named DIllion and he's a rookie.
