Mike Evans is at the top of my wish list, he is a hometown hall of famer with a winner’s toughness.

Barkley would be a phenomenal weapon to unleash, the biggest concern obviously is the price tag for a RB. I would not commit to longer than 2 years, I would not take a 2025 cap hit more than $20 million.

Scuggs/Patterson (Who played C very well before getting injured) and the Green's are going to fight it out for the Center position. I think you're going to like the results. Also gotta get a RT.

This is the hope, but we could still use one solid FA signing on the interior.

How many IOL do you want on the roster. There probably isn't enough room on the roster for another IOL as it stands now for one spot.

    Green/Green/Patterson/Scruggs/Broeker/Deiter

I certainly did not see Damien Pierce falling off a cliff the way he did.
I'm sure front office was counting on him being "The Man". But alas he is not set for this scheme.
I suspect an RB will be taken late 3rd or 4th, if not free agent. There is a part of me that thinks Saquon ends up here. Don't know if that is good or bad. But my spidy senses are tingling

Yes, Shaq Mason is an example of going through free agency and the draft.

Free agents dont always excel year one and draft picks often take a few years.

So hopefully those D and O lineman can develop soon. Train up Shaq.....I remember when Shaq Mason came out of college and was highly regarded. Could be the same with those this draft.

Agreed. Feel like they can find one that doesn’t break the bank.

Also…Where the F have you been? Hope all is well.

They should be better in year two than in their rookie years

    Offense
Re-sign Devin Singletary, Josh Jones and Dalton Schultz (though I am ok replacing him with Colby Parkinson if the price isnt right)

I'd sign Dalton Risner (and Parkinson as Schultz dictates)

In the draft I would select Brian Thomas or Tez Walker in Round 1 or 2. Id like to add Cade Stover in the 3rd and Jaylen Wright in the 4th. Id probably select a developmental OL in the 4th too (Christian Jones from Texas? Nathan Thomas from Lousiana Lafayette?)

    LT Tunsil - J. Jones - C. Jones/N. Thomas
LG - Risner - Kenyon Green - Kendrick Green
    C - Scruggs - Patterson
    RG - Mason - Broeker
    RT - Howard - J. Jones - C. Jones/N. Thomas

    QB Stroud
HB Singletary - Wright - Pierce
    WR1 Nico - Hutchinson
    WR2 Thomas - Woods
    Slot Tank - Metchie
    TE Schultz/Parkinson - Jordan - Stover

Cut Woods. Hell I’d rather go after Beckham on a 1 yr deal than have Woods back.

Rounds 1-3 we need to be picking starters. We are not good enough yet to be drafting a third stringer in the third round.

Metchie and particularly Hutchinson dont have the god given ability that Collins has. Best hope is for Metchie to get his quickness in and out of is breaks back and become a quality slot WR.

I misunderstood, I thought you were talking about Mason when he was coming out of Georgia Tech. The trade for Mason was a steal.

Isn’t that what we signed RT Tytus Howard to 3/$56m for?

It's unlikely Howard will be effective coming back from his serious knee injury if he makes it back at all.

Yes, I meant coming out of college as well. Rule of thumb is take Offensive Tackle in first round but not guards.

Best guards usually go 2nd round thru 4th. Patriots took Shaq in the 4th. He was rated 14th best guard.
I had the Texans possibly taking him around that range. Kenyon Green went in the first round (15th pick).

    https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-offensive-guard-rankings-2023-nfl-season

Shaq grade at the combine was 6.10 (scores as a first year starter if you looking at the grading system at bottom of page)
    -------------
I'm basically correcting myself at seasons end when the Texans were eliminated and I posted I
wanted to upgrade the guard position.

After seeing how the Texans have addressed the issue by way of both draft picks & free agency....... nevermind. We can't keep going there shelling out money to free agents
and high ranking draft picks like Scruggs and Kenyon Green.

Shaq Mason was 9th ranked going into last season. An 80 + grade in pass blocking and an 80 +
grade in run blocking. Make it work.

*Sidenote: not easy coming back from Leukemia (Metchie); but this is why I want the Texans to go
#1 pick: Brian Thomas Jr or Tez Walker
    #2 pick: McConkey
    #3 pick: Bucky Irving

rest is fill in or projects backing up our projects drafted in previous drafts
