I can't take anything other than a sharpshooter with D and a real backup C, don't care whether a stretch 5 or defensive specialist. Anyone else other than a star is better ignored and wait for offseason to make adjustments.
NO. His father has to learn a lesson or two and this kid should decide to be an adult. He plays something like half a minute a game. If they add a FRP to disembark him we might get him to send to Rio G. Vipers and can use the pick to draft a backup big.
Nah. Martin was a nice contributor during the Rockets tanking years and a fun guy to watch, but I don't really see where he'd fill a real area of need on this team anymore. The Rockets need shooters, defenders and playmakers at the guard and wing spots, and KJ never did any of that particularly well. At best, he was a competent perimeter defender. That on top of the fact that he demanded out and, frankly, he's not played well enough to warrant being worth a second round pick, unless it's a highly protected one. Honestly, if this is as good as the kid is going to get, maybe the Rockets were lucky to get two 2nds for them when they did. I wish no ill will on the guy and hope he succeeds in his career, but I don't think it'll be in Houston.
Rockets already got good return for KPJ who was like the 60th pick. Dude had a bad attitude and actually had the nerve to demand a trade after Rox gave him a chance to be an NBA player. If Clippers attached picks to him I'd be OK taking him back, but if the Rox actually have to pay a pick for him hell no.
The first season he made .365 on threes, after that the percentage has been declining year by year. Now he's not even shooting the threes in Philly. I like his chemistry with Sengun, but our team needs shootings. I'd consider picking him up on the waiver's wire but I won't be trading a 2nd for him.
No there’s a reason he couldn’t crack the rotation in both LA and Philly. Something is up with his game not rising with the overall level of his team. It’s likely due to his shooting, and if he’s not developing as a shooter coaches are going to see him as an undersized PF. We already have Tate filling that role as an underwhelming undersized PF who cannot shoot. Id rather go in another direction to help bolster our bench or use the 2nd rounder to draft another KJM.
Funny how everyone cares all of a sudden about shooting, when he is just as athletic as Amen and shoots about 20% higher. KMJ is the real deal when given the time as a starter, just hasn’t had the opportunity in both other spots and that’s why he’d be a steal for just a second round pick.
KJ a likable dude, can cut well, but don't see a roster spot here. Rockets gave him decent amount of minutes to showcase during the Silas era, what he (and his dad) does after, is up to them. If he remains on Sixers, he'll at least experience playoff firsthand and an ~8% chance for a ring.
LMFAO, 2 contending teams get a good firsthand look at a long and highly athletic player and both come to the same conclusion.... "nah he sucks". Exactly the kind of player we want to bring back on board.
You know I agree with you most of the time but not this one. We have enough small bigs. We need length and shooting and he fits neither. I love him and hated to see him go but if he couldn't get PT in LA nor in Philly, that says a lot. He was getting 25 mins a game here but can't touch the court anywhere else. That says alot about our talent and how WE view it
KJM really fumbled his career by deciding not give a damn about the defensive side of the ball after his rookie year. the dude was blocking 7 footers every night his 1st year with us then decided to make some "business decisions" the following year. Not doubtly influenced by his Dad, who I don't miss on the sidelines.
Danuel House is in the the Sixer's rotation and not KJ. That should tell You everything you need to know about KJ.
I'm so confused. Y'all cried about not giving Cam minutes early in the season and now you want to take away his minutes and give it to KJ Martin? Don't forget we have Tari too waiting on the sideline.
