The number of US chargers is up 70% since 2021 and is now around 170,000 chargers at 65,000 locations, but only 15% of locations have fast charging. In 2023, there was an average of 125 new chargers brought online per day. Latest DOE estimates predict we'll eventually hit 400+ new chargers per day and have at least 1.2 million by 2030. That percentage of fast chargers has to increase dramatically as well.

From what I've been reading the past several months, the number of actually functioning chargers would have to also increase.

It has been a messy start to the year for electric vehicles.

Ford Motor said Friday it is slashing production of its F-150 Lightning, the electric pickup that has generated major buzz since its launch nearly two years ago. Tesla in recent days cut vehicle prices in Europe and China, and its stock has fallen sharply this month. Hertz last week said it was dumping 20,000 EVs from its rental fleet, replacing them with gas-engine cars.

EVs are leaving the early adopter stage to mainstream stage. At this point in time, most people know someone who has an EV.
Now the infrastructure has to grow fast to onboard the masses.
The whole snow storm thing seemed like an attack on EVs in general.
Tesla will start losing marketshare in the US but will still be the leading innovator for EV tech.
Nation adoption numbers will be the next big comparison

Elon Musk: Demand far exceeds production

Not a MBA graduate but wondering.......when demand exceeds production, do you cut prices all year also?

When interStates travel is possible. Real 350m min range with <5min recharge. Or real 600m min range with <30min recharge readily available at sleep over locations - homes, hotels, etcs.

ICE cars are being more and more regulated into low performance and unreliability. It's just inevitable that they will be so bad people will be forced to "choose" electric.

Maybe people will wake up and realize they want an alternative to a car …maybe better public transportation…

    Demand better.

If you have a house were you can plug it in a EV is good. If you don't have it don't get it. It sucks having to wait at the super charger.

I think COVID kinda killed that. You give up your car then the next virus shuts down all your ability to hit the store.

Future cars will shut off automatically if you're not wearing your mask while driving alone.
