It's amazing what can happen in a week huh? I was one of the couple of posters that still hung around in the last couple of series (before the Cubs series last weekend).

Cubs will be facing a very formidable Fish starting pitching in:

    1. A. J. Burnett (14Ks last outing)
    2. Dantrell Willis (with season ERA of 3.97)
    3. Josh Beck (outstanding last start)

Also Cubs will be facing the ever stubborn Tony Armas Jnr. of the Expos on Monday.

The Marlins will at least win the Burnett and Becket starts. A sweep is possible.

The Cubs could easily drop 4 straight. This is indeed a tough strect for them. But we have to take care of our own. We have to sweep the Buckos. At worst 2 out of 3.

I'm actually starting to worry more about the Marlins than the Cubs. The marlins seem to be as hot as the Astros right now, and even though we are tied in the standings, they are up one in the ever important loss column. If the Marlins sweep the cubs, they would be the team to catch. Good pitching and the ability to manufacture runs will mean they'll keep winning close ones down the stretch.

Remember they have 6 games left with the Braves, and another 3 or 6 with the Phillies(who have the potential to win a few games).

If we can win 70% of the games against the Pittsburghs, Miluakees, etc (Yes a tough task, but possible) .. we just need to try and split those 6 games with the Cardinals and we should be ok

The Hurricane that is supposed to hit Friday has forced the postponement of Friday's game between the Marlins and the Cubs.

It looks like the Saturday and Sunday games will go on as scheduled. It willl be nice to see AJ start Saturday and Josh on Sunday.....skipping Dantrell since he is the weakest link.

Yes, but the Cubs (for some reason) don't hit lefties well. But, they've rocked the D-train the few times they've faced him, so you never know.

I'd like to see them be forced to play a double-header, and really work over that Cubs bullpen. Guys like Hawkins, Remlinger and Rusch are already overworked as it is... and combine that with Farnsworth's DL, and Mercker's suspension, and they could be in bad shape for the rest of their upcoming games.
