It could happen ifBrown was willing to attach a prospect or two to move Montero's contract. Looks like Brown thinks Montero will have a bounce back season.
That was impressive. I’ll admit I skipped around a bit because I didn’t want to hear every FA. But I was amazed by both of you … and I learned how far behind I am on immaculate grid capability!
Ludicrous and comical claim. Brown has been GM for basically 1 year. He didn’t even get to handle free agency for us last year. Furthermore, neither you nor I have any idea of what constraints Crane has him working within. He traded for JV last year, and without that trade we don’t even make the playoffs, let alone another ALCS. Yet you sit here and make a comment like that. Legitimately head-scratching. Maybe give him a second to build his program and chill out. Jeez, Astros fans are so spoiled now many have become insufferable.

Yep. Brown has overseen one draft and one trade deadline and is 2/3 thru his first offseason. His trade deadline netted Verlander and Graveman and the team made the ALCS. It takes 3-5 years to judge a draft. It’ll be at least 2 years before we can reasonably judge Brown as a GM.
Well crap. Bullpen very thin on experience just got thinner. I actually had hopes for Graveman being a solid 4th or 5th bullpen option this year. A 6-7th inning guy who could occassionally pitch the 8th if Pressly and Abreu were unavailable. Time to bring in Stephenson At the very least I hope this is the straw (poor camel) and Crane decides being under the CBT simply isn't realistic.
Brown's 2 biggest accomplishments were getting a Lunhow and a Click guy back on the team. One of which is out for next year and the other may have to be babied due to his age. He also let his manager mishandle a young stud catcher we could have used in the post season. That don't impress me much.
Julks has no trade value. A team might ask for him as a throw-in in a trade or might claim him on waivers, but no team is currently going to give up anything meaningful for him.
