I thought the same as well. More of a curiosity if it is a culture thing in the Steelers locker room that could be addressed. That’s been discussed plenty that while Tomlin wins and is generally respected, recall the many issues in his WR room.

Take a shot with a 6th rounder. Soft hands. Knows how the qb thinks having played Qb. He can also run from the backfield. Run the Deebo-Luke set. Granted the only game I watched of his was the UH one, where he had an annoying 2 TDs. Stroud can turn him into a weapon. Tremendous genes.
    Receivers who had slower 40s
    Devante Adams 4.56
    D-hop 4.57
    Cooper Kupp 4.62

John McClain said that we’ll very likely go with DL or best defensive player available with the first. It’s what Demeco and the 49ers emphasized when he was there. And it checks out. They went D every year during his tenure except for Trey Lance and OT Mike McGlinchey.

Plus Greenard might be gone and we need replacements for some of the older DT on the team.

    21. ARIZONA CARDINALS (VIA HOU): CB KOOL-AID MCKINSTRY, ALABAMA
The Cardinals grab one stud player at a premium position on each side of the ball in this mock draft. The Alabama outside cornerback played more than 1,000 coverage snaps (including 550-plus in press coverage) over the past two seasons, earning coverage grades above 80.0 in both years.

    27. HOUSTON TEXANS (VIA CLV): OL TROY FAUTANU, WASHINGTON
The Texans' offensive line held up better than expected this season. Laremy Tunsil is a cornerstone piece, and Tytus Howard‘s first season in a three-year deal is done. Houston drafted Kenyon Green in the first round in 2022 to man an interior spot, and they drafted Juice Scruggs in the second round last year to man another. Their offensive line investment plan is almost complete.

Fautanu has played at left tackle for the Huskies over the past two seasons, but his shorter length might force him inside to guard at the pro level. Length feels like one of the only deficiencies for him, though, and he should thrive at any interior offensive line spot.

Fautanu is a beast. He absolutely shutdown the elite Longhorns pass rush.

After making great pick after great pick, I’m very excited about him getting another 1st round pick. Especially if Texans beat the Browns, then the Texans get a much better pick.

I highly doubt we draft an offensive lineman in the first 3 rounds. We have plenty of young players with upside at the position already. They just need health and experience.

So Aiyuk wasn't drafted when Ryans was there?

Michael Penix Jr. is now a mid 3rd round pick.

He definitely didn't respond to pressure well tonight.

not with their own first round pick. They took Javon Kinlaw DT with the 14th. They traded for Minn #25 pick. So yeah my point still stands they value DL more.

Or they valued the DT at that spot more than someone else, and valued the WR more than others where he was drafted?

I mean they could’ve had Ceedee Lamb or Justin Jefferson if they really wanted a WR with the 14th. So yeah I guess they really did.

That SF team is weird cuz most of their ‘top players’ were drafted in the middle rounds. Like Kittles, Warner, Deebo Samuel. I think Bosa and Aiyuk are the only first round hits they’ve had in the Shannahan era.

Bails/checks down at the first sign of pressure. Had the opposite performance that Stroud did a year ago.

He was always a 3rd at best for those who watched him.

He had a good semi final which pushed up up a little with others. But he has sloppy footwork still which isn’t going to change overnight and had some amazing receivers and oline. It’ll be interesting to see the change of situation in the NFL.

    Been a mix

    Lance (Offense)
    Kinlaw (Dense)
    Aiyuk (Offense)
    Bosa (Defense)
    McGlinchey (Offense)
