Well, I finally found time to watch this season, and I’m loving it. I suspect that the latest episode titled “Linda” will be somewhat polarizing, but I thought it was great. It reminded me of a couple of episodes from Breaking Bad that sort of stood apart on their own from the rest of the series. I’m really looking forward to the final three episodes.
not a fan of dream sequences designed to mislead the viewer, or the 1 in a billion hit by a sliding truck to drive the plot
Guess she was in Never Have I Ever.... also that actor that plays her failing BF is really just playing losers.
I've loved it so far. I usually end up behind on these shows and often times don't get to watch it fully until the whole season has wrapped, so I haven't been in this thread discussing. The Linda episode was masterful, I don't care about the dream thing. The whole point of that episode was giving us backstory on Dorothy and putting us in her mind space for the first real time in the season, so it doesn't matter that it was a dream. So far I would rank it behind season 1 and 2 and probably neck and neck for 3rd place, which might sound bad to some but season 1 and 2 were so amazing it would be hard to top.
Hamm walking through the snow to the somber Brittany Spear's "Toxic" cover was everything. Absolutely masterful work on this show this season. Completely makes up for the missteps in Season 4 (which was still good).
I'm enjoying this season. At times, I think it tries too hard to reference the movie, but....it's Fargo, so... Hamm is brilliant as usual. Jennifer J. Leigh is good too, although I can do without her weird accent. Watched "Linda" last night and yeah....not my favorite episode. But I respect what they were trying to do.
In retrospect, the 4th Season was not that bad, that Gaetano was goofy. Switching your youngest sons is ritualistic.
It's been a while since I've seen the movie. What references has there been this season? Maybe the car dealership? What else?
The kidnapping scene of the wife while she's at home has similar beats to the film. The murder by axe was almost a direct copy from the film.
So this was tha first season that I watched. After 2-3 episodes, went and binged Seasons 1 and 2. My rankings: season two was damn near pefect Season one was great but not quite as good as 2 This season is really good but not as good as either of the above, but really liking it is Season 3 good? I’ve heard 4 is not really worth watching? Thoughts?
S3 was McGregor and S4 was Rock, right? Both were MID. Finally figured something out... it clicked for me when she was chained getting beat... the girl from Ted Lasso look like a MOUSE.
S1 was so incredible I was annoyed when they announced a S2 would happen. The bar was set so high I didn't think they should even bother. Well, S2 was even better than S1 IMO. I didn't think that was possible. S5 is also very good but I'm not dying in between episodes like those two. The acting isn't as good. I skipped S3 and S4 and would also like opinions on whether they are worth watching.
