[Next step] Good days ahead and we need that 3rd player

I was hoping things would blow up in Memphis w Ja back, but he still looks like a superstar that he was and there is no taking advantage of buying low on that situation which seems behind them. The only other option would be convincing Donovan to come to Houston over NY. The other options like Lavine do not seem like they would be enough to make the team a contender. We could try to take a big risk on Zion (not perimeter based), but it would be a big risk involving pretty much all of our good assets that are not contributing. There could be a hidden gem somewhere, a Haliburton type that someone under values, but that takes more skill to find.

 

Whitmore perhaps, but he's a bit too raw. I wonder if we can package Jalen and Nets picks for a disgruntled all star level guard

I mean we need three guys either way but I don't know why everyone is so settled on Bari being a 3rd option. The more shots he gets the more he seems to make. I've always said stop putting a ceiling on this man, his driving has improved leaps and bounds and his shot has been as advertised for most of this season.

Sengun and Bari could very well be our 1a and 1b.

I think it's more likely that they are and that Tari will be the 3rd guy. Tari just seems like the guy that is our new mentality. Seems like the perfect Ime player and offensively he's grown a lot this year.

If a guy is older than 26 he probably doesn't make sense with our timeline. Always remember that Alpi is 21 and Jabari is 20.

So if we're going to trade for a guy right now, he needs to be on the young side. That makes it tough. Even Mitchell is maybe a little too old--and also a little too ball-dominant, but I digress.

It might make sense to just stay the course for now and see who shakes loose in the future.

As for the big trade, I imagine if it is going to happen at all, it will be around the time of the trade deadline.
We got 6 weeks to take a closer look at everybody.
Sometimes in those days preceding the deadline, names emerge that nobody expected.
Look forward to that first week of February.

 

Rockets still look like they need a big big (Even though Sengun out smarted Valanciunas and got him the boot) and they need a legit 3 & D player who shoots 40+ from 3 and keeps the defense from double & tripling Sengun. The sniper would most likely have the bigger effect on win shares at this point.

 

A good 2 guard and a shotblocker/rebounder....

 

Put a smart player like Alex Caruso at 2 will make wonders. You can either play sengun with 4 shooters or 5 out offense.

 

Detroit uses Cade very wrong position.He should be SG.Amen+Green for Cade.

 

I do like that Ime is open to 3 big lineups. Extended minutes with Jabari, Jeff and Alp out there.

 

Boban is obviously the third guy. He's just 22. The timeline is right.

 

I think the more realistic scenario for the modern NBA is that we get good enough with the core that a 3rd star wants to come here.
