    “These books are among the 673 rejected by Orange County Public Schools this year for fear they violate a new Florida law that prohibits “sexual conduct” in books available to students. The books were in teachers’ classroom libraries. The books will get another review by OCPS staff, and could be returned to shelves at some point, but for now teachers have been told to take them home or put them away so students cannot access them. (Leslie Postal/Orlando Sentinel).”

    trying to remember how old I was when I read Catch 22 for the first time, maybe ten or eleven? I remember my dad had to walk me into the movie, since it was rated R, and it came out when I was 12.

    what grades are we talking about in FL school libraries?

    Don’t know what grades, if not all.

    Personal choice with parental oversight is perfectly fine. These books are in libraries; they are there to be selected, not forced on any student. A government with zero trust in the local school district and parents for oversight is a crappy government
