I'd like to have a beer with George Bush, but I would never vote for him .

Does anyone else feel that way ? When ever I see Bush on television I always giggle a little bit. I'm a Democrat, but I really don't hate George Bush. Some like to paint liberals as " Bush haters" or " Bush Bashers", and while I do think he's done a lot in his life to look down on ( national guard for instance), I would still like to watch a baseball game with him in a bar. He seems like a funny son of a b****.

Don't get me wrong though, I think John Kerry is likeable. But I think I would play scrabble with him. I mean, I guess it's like your sets of friends... you have those you know from college and can talk about the issues of the day with... and then you have your former football teammates who didnt quite make it to college , but you still want to drink with on a Friday night.

So not only am I voting for John Kerry to set us back on the right track again, I'm voting for him so we can get good old Bush back to Texas , and get him drinking again. You know the only reason he's stopped is because of politics. I want 1980's Bush back !!!!!

I don't think it's odd that person might find someone likable but not qualified to be President.

Actually, I've told people this myself. I, personally, do not have a problem with George Bush as a person. Seems like a nice enough guy. But, his politics and the politics of his administration simply run counter to my own.

I have quite a few friends who are near the opposite end of the political spectrum from me and we are still friends.

Kind of like the way I used to feel about Clinton. I wouldn't vote for him but man, would I like to party with him!

I don't know if I'd like Bush personally. I don't know him that way, so it's unfair for me to ever say completely one way or the other. In college, he seemed like the kind of guy I don't like. The wealthy frat boy elitists. Now, he's apperantly a hardcore christian convervative, not my type of crowd.

I don't feel that way. I don't like beer and I most certainly would vote for him.

I love beer, but can't drink. (medications) Most depressing. :(
I don't like Bush, but if he could cure my beer/meds interactions, then I'd have a beer with him, out of gratitude. I'd be careful discussing politics, however. I wouldn't want the Secret Service throwing me out of the bar! ;)

Im not much of a beer drinker these days...but I wouldnt mind having a few shots of Crown with him...and maybe a game of darts or foosball(cause I know I could whip him at foos)...and hopefully, since he is much more wealthy than I, he would be paying. :D

I think the vast majority of Americans on either side would love to have a beer with Bush. He's the freaking president of the United States.

I remember in 2000, not one full day after the Supreme Court announced their decision, I was walking from our parking garage to our office in Austin. The garage is on 6th Street across from the Driskill Hotel, the Bush's "HQ" during the recount process. There were a bunch of people hanging around so I stopped to see what was going on. Five minutes later, the next President walked out, waved to us all and jumped into a car. I had chills up and down my body. It was surreal to see the President-elect that close. My parents, who are Bush supporters and pretty much diehard Republicans (except for my Dad, he just doesn't want to piss Mom off! ;) ), who saw Al Gore at a St. Patrick's Day Parade in Chicago.

A lot of people like to talk trash about the politicians they disagree with, me among them. However, I hold a certain level of respect for many of those who serve our country in that manner, even if a lot of them seem like scumbags.

I'd like to hang out with Homer Simpson, too, but that doesn't mean he's qualified to be President.

Charisma and ability are two completely different things.
