But have you had the shitty part of an online fanbase harassing you and sending you threats while trying to get you fired?
Someone else mentioned how easy it is to get personal information in this day and age.
I wouldn’t be surprised if her family and friends have been harassed as well.
If she says she’s receiving threats I believe her.
it would be scary as **** to have some online psychos saying they’re going to hurt you and more than likely be in your area.
Women seem to get it worse than men when it comes to this type of stuff.
Also from personal experience if someone is mentioning self harm it needs to be taken seriously.
Even if the reasons don’t seem justified to the masses. (Including me)

This is a terrible take. When someone says they are suicidal, take their word for it. When they tell you they've thought about it 3 times, know that it's way more than 3 times. Telling them to toughen up .. thats a tone deaf thing to say.

You're just dealing with a person in the wrong profession. You can't be the worlds fattest jockey or worlds slowest runner and expect to succeed. A thin skinned lying or ignorant propagandist just won't work.

 

Nothing justifies personally threatening or harassing others. There are plenty of sickos online who do this to anyone they don't like the looks of, don't like their opinions, etc... Sports fans can't justify crossing that line, simply because someone said something they didn't like. It was bound to happen after she made those slanderous comments about Altuve. It's not just Houston fans that have crazies amongst them who do this kind of stuff. It's society in general online. Nutjobs come out of the woodwork attacking others.

She poked the beast, and for that reason alone she should have never been hired for a Houston newspaper. The Chronicle could have done better, and the reporter should have kept her biased and slanderous opinions to herself.

Regardless, when someone even hints at suicide it should be taken seriously. Nobody knows what's really going on. Maybe she got some terrible threats, and is terrified, or just wants it to stop. Just leave the damn woman alone. Enough is enough.

The erosion of this fanbase, which was such a positive force in 2017, is so dispiriting and disappointing. Just the absolute worst: a group of spoiled, entitled, self-righteous assholes. They don't deserve this team.
