Personally I don't think ignore should be used simply due to disagreement. I think only weak minded people use an ignore type feature in an effort to create an echo chamber, there's no point in discussion if everyone is just going to agree all the time. I reserve the ignore feature for the completely irredeemable worst of the worst. As such, there's only one person on that list, and it's a sock puppet account, they lost their main account due to their abhorrent behavior.
I add people that make the forum unusable due to trolling behavior. The entire D&D is littered with tinman's childlike postings. The others on my list were probably added after reading so many trash posts that it's a waste of my time to read anything they post
My ignore list consists of: 11 people from the D&D (5 conservative, 6 liberal, if you're curious) 3 people from the Texans forum 3 people from Bitcoin threads 1 person from their activity everywhere 1 person whose profile picture I find gross And a handful of people who violated TOS (harassment, doxing, etc) and have probably been banned Weeding out people whose posts are consistently low quality does wonders for the readability of the BBS.
Agreed except I haven't been to D&D one time since returning to CF recently. Right now, my ignore list has 5 members.
I’ve only put one poster in ignore and that had nothing to do with politics or sports. That is the only person who I’ve unfriended on other social media also.
Secretly, I’ve blocked everyone and just randomly hit reply like throwing darts with a blindfold. Don’t tell.
Went through it out of curiosity and my earlier guess of 200 was close. Most were from the Lin days or otherwise I have no idea why they're ignored. Most of them haven't been seen in years. Alotta one and dones... Few names of note, but some we all recognize.
None for me although my tenure here is short. I tend to read the post before even noticing the name. I probably wouldn't bother to ignore somebody. Just because I don't like a post on a particular topic doesn't mean the opinion isn't valid on it or another one
bobbyTG & tinman 1st being the poster i presume is the most ignored on the message board by a substantial margin. the 2nd I am sure if you saw a graph has steadily risen the last year + since he essentially ruined the d&d. If I had to choose I would rather sit down and have a beer with Tinman. He is just annoying. Whereas bobbythegreat if acting out and saying the same online he repeatedly does online but in public would deserve to get his a** kicked. zero redeeming qualities attached to that brain.
Never considered it. I rarely look at the whole list. However, I have unignored folks after checking "Show Ignored Messages" in threads. Sometimes the unignore was temporary when the poster's persona or schtick reminded me why I ignored them in the first place. Unfortunately, some pOsters are so prolific that ignoring them would cause half the threads to disappear.
Yeah, it would be real good to just make yourself invisible to that person and that be the end of the story.
Clutch put together this list several years ago but hasn't updated it since as far as I know. Lots of banned members
I'm looking. @Kubil9? Bobbythegreat seems normal too. Don't get why you guys hate him. Don't know the rest. Agree on Dakota
I used to have a lot, not because of any personal beef or arguments, they were just stupid and annoying. But I took most of them off. The only one I really left on ignore was Mr. Scarface.
