Super team in the MLB. Sigh. Sucks not being excited for next year when the Astros still have a good team. But the Dodgers acquiring who they did makes it hard to be optimistic.
Glasnow is hardly someone that would take them over the top. He's oft injured (30 years old with a career high 120 innings last year and only one 10 win season) and is horrible in the playoffs. Can't wait to beat him twice in the World Series.
The Astros should bring back the trash cans to level the $$$ field that allow teams like the Yankees and Dodgers to keep spending and adding payroll.
The Dodgers are still going to have issues this season because Ohtani can't pitch. Their pitching staff is suspect. They will have to pull a Rangers and get hot with the bat.
How do the dodgers have so much money to spend? I thought we were about even with them on payroll last year?
They lost a lot of players to FA. Kershaw, Lynn, Urias, Rosario, JD Martinez, Hernandez. That's like 90 million. Bauer is a FA too but I don't remember if they still had to pay his contract. Plus they're the Dodgers.
Astros lineup overall is still bettter. And the rotation is far superior (even if Glasnow makes one of his ten starts)
It's not even clear the Dodgers are better than last year's team that lost in the ALDS, let alone a super team. They added Glasnow, which likely replaces Kershaw and is a wash at best (both are great half-season pitchers). They obviously added the DH part of Ohtani, but also lose JD Martinez who was pretty damn good himself. That doesn't even account for all the other players they lost this year.
