This is pretty funny. Someone made a video on Google maps to the Johnny Cash song, "I've Been Everywhere" with Johnny heads popping up all over the map every time a city is named in the song. Just click play on the link. https://www.johnnycashhasbeeneverywhere.com/
Check the map site yourself. You can compare countries and states like below. https://mapfight.xyz/map/jp/
Huge enclave in East Portland--over 100,000 refugees and immigrants from the former Soviet Union with most coming from Ukraine. There was a small wave in the 1890-1905 era, so there was a significant cultural foundation in Portland when the Soviet Union collapsed. There's a Russian language cable access channel, a Russian music radio station, and a Russian immersion school. No other state has a such high a percentage of Slavs/Russians. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has strained the community and the non-profits and governmental support agencies that work with the population. Even the radio station is very careful about how they broadcast the news.
Most Canadians Live South of Seattle and Other Map Surprises We’re wrong about directions and locations of many countries. Atlas Obscura is one of my favorite websites.
