Giddey is a millionaire with more money than most likely everyone on this board, possibly combined. No reason he couldn't have just slept with a 18 year old college girl. This is all on him.

That is why there is news about this millionaire, and we small people are the ones talking about it.

It should not even be our business lol but here we are.

If you were surrounded by hot 16-17-18 year olds or younger I am not sure you could resist the temptation, not trying to be know it all here.

We try to sound like saints but how many would have caved in that situation. (don't want to find out tho)

We do not have those millions but we are also not losing those millions.

He hasn't been charged for a crime (and the girl/family wont cooperate with authorities). If NBA commentators talk about what happened publicly they can get sued. KPJ was arrested and charged so that gave the media free reign. People are going to boo Josh for a little while but that's as far as it'll go.

 

Yeah....easily. At the end of the day, the NBA is won by players that when they're "on" need to have multiple guys thrown at them like Jalen had against Memphis and Denver. Jalen is inconsistent. Maddeningly so. But players like SGA don't have that gene in them. The "it". He's a dude. And credit to him for making the most of his abilities. But he's a little like Kirkland's Brand Harden. No real superhero trait to him. No ability that says "we have no answer for this dude". Jalen has actually done that in games when he goes supernova.

His brain is still immature though. It's like his body is trying to do things that his mind can't keep up with. Hence the turnovers, the loose handle. He needs to take a deep breath, and slow down. I hope Ime is working with him on this. Just take it slow. Get the movements down first. Then faster and faster until he can do them at a speed no one else can. He needs to slow tf down and know when to unleash the speed and control it. He just can't do that right now.

 

That's the thing though, we aren't millionaires so any of us would be in handcuffs and put in court with our life changed forever. Luckily for Giddey he has bags of hush-money to hand out and the best lawyers to hire to handle his case.

 

I kind of disagree with that, I think you do not have to have high jumping abilities to become a superstar..... they are not Usain Bolts or whoever the high jump champion is.

The European stars other than Giannis have taught us that. I thought you would know that at least.

Cap America, Black Widow, Iron Man all do not have alien powers.

The Game has progressed to have stars that go to the line and make their jumpers.......there is nothing fancy about that.

 

Jokic, Sengun and Doncic are all massive and thick. They can bump you off incredibly easily. Harden also had this ability. That's why he was a mega-star. Shai doesn't have this. He has neither insane athleticism, height, weight, or eyes on the back of his head. Paolo for example does have the size to make up for his lack of athleticism. Shai is crafty, sure. But so was Kevin Martin. Which is ultimately my comparison for him. Rail thin foul drawing type that can manufacture points but can't really reduce a team to rubble. When's the last game SGA had where you were just left in awe at the things he was doing? Hell...Sengun has probably had more of those than Shai.

Chet is a different story. Over time the Thunder will need Chet to be the guy. Shai is not the guy.

 

You are heading towards the right direction........Jalen can be good but the combination of athleticism + lean body, smaller body......I mean there are more 6th Man of the Year with that combination (that is a good case scenario) than superstars......

Shai is Shai, he does 33 points quietly without people noticing it because he penetrates and penetrates and penetrates and probes the opponent...he does not shoot many 3s but he gets to his spots.... and he actually finishes And 1s.....

 

Its not just the team that needs a change of mind set, it's the fans too
For the last 2 years we have gotten used to following individual players and not overall team result mainly bc we knew we were going to lose most of the games. Now that we are winning, the team comes over individual performances. It's understandable that we criticize individuals who may have directly impacted a loss but winning attitude means cheering on the team and how they did rather than relentlessly harping over player x or y who you either love or hate.
The player x only fans and the player x only haters need to understand that winning team concept.

 

Shai will be in the mvp conversation for years to come and is a proven legitimate star on the cusp of being a superstar. An all nba 1st team player. yeah he's definitely that guy. if you're down on SGA and disregard an elite talent like him then you just hate efficiency and elite talent. your expectation on what counts as "the guy" isn't realistic

SGA currently leads the NBA in WS/48 for what it's worth, and is putting up a better season than peak Harden and Peak CP3. He's shooting 54% from midrange while putting up nearly 70% of his shots from between 3 feet and the 3 point line.

SGA might very well be a Michael Jordan level mid range shooter.

I think OP meant that SGA's play is not spectacular, it is alright. I am fully confident in Shai, dude just does not know greatness when he sees it.

 

The problem is not SGA but the parts around him are not ready yet.......they are on a good way....

 

Oh please, you judgmental bunch...Giddey hasn't been charged and even if he had, no reason to boo a guy. If you want to boo every guy who's done something potentially unethical or similar than look no further than Vernon Maxwell among plenty of others. Does he get booed? Should Olajuwon stop talking to him? Should Calvin Murphy be fired again, taken off the air?
