The Astros did not select a player in the major-league portion of the Rule 5 draft. Houston also didn't lose any players in the major-league phase. In the Triple-A phase of the Rule 5 draft, the Guardians selected righthanded pitcher Tyler Brown from the Astros' Double-A roster. Brown, 25, was a third-round pick by Houston in 2020. The Astros selected pitcher Railin Perez from the Red Sox Low-A roster in the Triple-A phase of the Rule 5. Perez, a 22-year-old righthander, had a 3.70 ERA in 32 A-ball appearances in 2023. The Yankees selected reliever Kervin Castro from the Astros' Double-A roster in the minor-league phase. Castro was recently signed to a minor-league deal. Miami selected outfielder Marty Costes from Houston's Double-A roster. The Astros selected righthanded pitcher Carlos Betancourt from the Phillies' High-A roster in the minor-league phase. Betancourt, 22, threw 78 innings at High-A with a 3.69 ERA in 2023. — Matthew Kawahara
Looking at his game log, his atrocious ERA last season can be attributed to his 5 games where he gave up 10 runs. He was actually got a lot better after that.
Gonna suck if the Yankees get Soto and the Dodgers get Ohtani. Seems like they always get who they want most of the time.
Looking at his stats reminds me of this clip.... Though...96 mph is a lot different today than it was back then.
so it’s a long-term signing: likely Altuve Bregman Tuck? or something non-player? Like they will now be serving habanero queso at torchys?
Altuve is really the only move I can think of that could possibly be under wraps. If not, it's not a player move. And if it's not a player move then it isn't really news
I don't think the MMP account would post something about a player move. This is likely something new the stadium will offer or feature next season. Cool your jets folks.
