I'm not overweight but I am treated for hypertension so maybe that put me in the at risk zone enough?

Got a pulse oximeter? Check your O2 levels with that. If it's below 90, maybe go to the ER.

like others have said, be mindful of your breathing
check your oxygen levels if you're really concerned

i had a lil episode with covid back in the summer that lead to some liver problems.
went from a fever the first week to jaundice and a week long stay in the ER.

Took me a good 3 months to get back to normal. It ****ing sucked.

Are you trying Paxlovid? It helped my wife when she had a bad case. I think the key is to take it very early in the illness though.

Yes, will try. Used an online service to assess my eligibility and then a telehealth service to get the prescription, my wife is picking it up right now.

So fever broke finally, other than exhausted was actually feeling pretty good. Tonight however, 3 hours of not being able to sleep and dry coughing has got me a bit cranky. Thus, here I am at my local cfans.net medical advisory board. Was thinking cough suppressant at night and expectorant during daytime. Suggestions?

My old physician always told me that at a certain point you have to stop the expectorants unless you really, really can't get the stuff up and out (like its just super sticky and not coming up). It can prolong your cough by keeping a constant trickle going and keeping your airways irritated.

Day 3 of Paxlovid - the nasty taste isn't quite as strong any more.

Symptoms feeling better overall, but still feel very fatigued. Just had a brief phone call about a work thing (having to explain some data to someone) and did feel a bit out of breath after so that has me a bit concerned.

One thing they don't tell you about working remotely is it's hard to actually take a sick day haha.

Suppressant for nighttime it is. I'll stay away from the expectorant as I don't think I really have anything wanting to come out, just irritated lungs I feel from several days of sickness.

    Thank you!

I STILL have brain fog from my NOV 21-ish diagnosis. Improving though. Didn't have it the first time. REALLY annoying. Unusually tired also.

Thank you. I'm ok. Feels like I have a bit of brain fog, did some Zoom calls today and made even less sense than I normally do. Felt like I was struggling putting 2 and 2 together. Have started taking Paxlovid, it indeed leads to a weird taste in the mouth.

Just watch out because a lot of cough suppressants sneak the expectorant in too.

You might want to re-test for Covid after a day or so if you are concerned about it/want to consider the Paxlovid option if it is Covid.

I was told that more recent variants can take a bit longer to return a positive test.

On my final day of Paxlovid. Feeling good but the cough is still hanging around. Otherwise feel pretty much normal.

I hate that nasty taste as well. I have now taken 3 of the 5 full day's courses of Paxlovid (18 of 30 tablets).

My test this morning was already negative.

I don't know if it's me getting used to it or what, but on day 5 the nasty taste is just barely there.
