ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Warriors 11/20/2023

Look, as a team We actually played well tonight. We matched the Warriors in assists and turnovers, and we outrebounded them and also had more steals and blocks. They made 9 more threes than us, and there's the game ball. We weren't disciplined enough defending them in the first half, and they all got hot.

 

Sengun is becoming a star and hopefully will grab the attention of the refs. He already is getting more calls and Im sure the NBA is tracking his potential stardom with their minds dead set on Euro market expansion especially with Wemby mania. Hopefully he will get more superstar treatment.

 

Yeah i agreed with the long bench and agree with you about the 3rd.

The holiday lineup kinda hit a wall(imo) with 5 minutes left tho. Felt it needed a change or a timeout.

Not subbing green in around that time made me wonder what assignment or critical mistake green made. His defense felt sloppy tonight all night imo, so probably that.

 

West coast swing. Lost by 6, 1 and 5. Lost the FT by 10+ in every game. Either some major west coast bias or we got some problems guarding players or some combo of the two.

 

B2Bs are no problem at all

I think fans have just way too used to teams not playing them as much now

 

Alpi’s rise has been crazy. Man’s on a tear.

 

A few good things that caught my eye:

- when Jabari can hit the smooth jumper, it is money. He'll get stronger on defense and will be a good defender. Eventually, his ability to put the ball on the floor and move with it, will determine his peak.
- loved the Sengun bully ball
- FVV despite missing the shots can keep playing the same way. Amazing! Still makes the correct decisions, does not force anything other than his usual. Great guy!

 

They are an advantage though, even if teams win them, it's still an advantage that one team was playing last night and the other team was resting last night.

I've never been a fan of that, if teams are going to play b2b the obvious answer is to make sure both teams played the night before. It's always mentioned how the other team is just a 'step quicker' and its of course they are. They are on fresh legs vs a team that played last night and we are a team that is definitely using a lot of energy on defense to contest every shot we can.

Coaches use the term 'scheduled loss' for a reason.

 

B2B should not be a problem for a young team, problem is this is a team with Sengün and otherwise Veterans.

 

Also, not sure why they don’t give Jabari more of those mid range shots. He seems to hardly ever miss those.

 

They are just a tad worse on the road than at home too.....for example at home Holiday would have scored 20 ...

The Rockets were lucky to have a 7 Game Home Stretch in Early November, most teams do not have that......that was the beginning of blowing teams out.....like the Kings and Lakers.

 

We are fine. We got shafted in Clippers game and our record should be 7-5. We are on the course of winning 35-40 games. We could defeat Grizzlies they are ass and Nuggets. I read that Murray will not play against us so chin up man.

 

In all three games there was a massive discrepancy between how our opponents were whistled and how we were.

Any time we tried to crank up defensively and even just MATCH our opponents physicality, the refs came running in to save them.

 

three matches just lose by little. Take a rest and we will have another winning steak again

 

That is why we needed to trade for a legit superstar.....that you won't get bullied by the refs on the road so much.

 

If Jalen Green could play slightly better, we would win all three games.

He is our weakness now.

 

They are definitely better at home but its really hard to gauge a team on tired legs. I came into this game expecting a loss just because of that and nothing else.

They did play hard though. It's why I'm really not so hard on them tonight.

We also have a the backend of a b2b against and in denver coming up too lol, so that's another guaranteed L.

 

Legit superstars don't get traded at their peak.

 

We also would not think that they were 6-3 before the trip and 6-6 now...so that is a positive.

EC teams and the road trip to the East should get easier......I hope.

 

And it will be at least +10 more for every team we play that has a superstar or plays in the state of California. You can set your watch by it. And at least one or usually 2 calls at the end of the game that could go either way end up going against us. It’s just predictable at this point.
