I wonder what his stats are without the clean pocket.. it’s interesting that every TD and every interception is from a clean pocket. Is it that the pocket is always clean? Or is it bad when the pocket collapses?

That doesn't seem right to me. His bad interception in the Bengals game was with an edge rusher coming at him, right? I thought from looking at the replays that it seemed he altered his throw a little because of it.

It kind of freaks me out a bit when everybody and their mother is talking about Stroud as the greatest rookie QB evah.

Feels like we are being primed for the other shoe to drop.

Love that CJ can see and doesn’t trust the sports media. They live for building up young black qbs that have early success just to tear them down and break them mentally. Let’s see how the media reacts to cj if he has a few bad games NEXT YEAR. Cj has a very young and smart sports agent in his corner who I’m sure is advising him to not trust espn and fs1 all the way.

Not a fan of these stats but saw this one on a talk show.

Only 5 QB's all time have started a year with:
15TD to 2 picks or less INT
    2600 yards

    Tom Brady
    Aaron Rodgers
    Patrick Mahomes
    Drew Brees

    and

    CJ

    Nice company for the youngin.

If you didn’t know anything about the second pick from the 2023 draft, I’d forgive you for thinking “the first rookie QB since” was part of his legal name.

    is a good line

    My favorite:

"There are no gimmicks here. This is real quarterbacking—locally sourced, farm-to-table passing."

“Now that the situation and his surrounding talent calls for it, Stroud is scrambling his ass off, and defenders are having a tough time keeping up. In a September win against Jacksonville, Stroud reached 19.6 miles per hour on a run. That’s the ninth-highest speed for any QB on a run attempt this season, per Next Gen Stats, and just 0.1 MPH slower than Richardson’s fastest run. The Colts rookie is a bigger fella, but he also ran a 4.4-second 40-yard dash at the combine, so Stroud keeping up with him suggests that the Texans QB could be a special athlete.”

Yes, he’s faster than he’s been given credit for and I think finally @cmoak1982 will be ready to admit that he’s more athletic than Jared Goff.

Nope. Not believing this. I was told a sloth could run faster.

I'm going to need to see his Wiggles Had Over Replacement metric before I make a decision

    I'm liking all the wiggles.
The wiggle with the shoulders before a long throw always gets me. Something good happens.

I like that he does the wiggle pump fake throws occasionally. I was just thinking the other day that you don't see QBs do pump fakes much anymore. It's like people stopped teaching it or something. But I would imagine it is a pretty effective move to get DBs off balance. Maybe the concern is losing control of the ball as you're coming back down.
