Trade for Davion Mitchell to back up Fred instead of Holiday. He's fallen out of the rotation in SAC. Hes a DAWG.
How can we acquire Myles Turner? I don’t want to give up on Jabari but the discussion probably starts with him Turner would be the perfect shot blocking/3 pt threat next to Sengun
If Indiana keeps playing like this they ain't trading Turner Their fans are probably asking "how can we acquire Dillon Brooks to be our defensive stopper"--same answer, you can't without a massive overpay, he's become too important to what we're doing right now (can't believe I'm saying that)
Yeah and the amazing part is it's the truth. That's not just your opinion. Without Brooks this team is probably 1-8
We don't need him. FVV and Holiday are playing well for us. Amen needs to get fit first and then play in the G-League before rejoining the Rockets.
If there is any trade this team needs to do it's to get a back up big with a long wingspan that can play 15+ minutes, so essentially a younger Boban.
Mid December when signed player become trade eligible, and Bridges returns from his ban, im calling the Hornets up and offering Landale + 3 2nds and 5 mill cash for Nick Richards They probably say no easily
Vucevic for Oladipo and Bullock Why it makes sense for the Bulls: both Bullock and Oladipo have one year left, they need to blow it up and start fresh. Why it makes sense for the Rockets: Vucevic is a solid C with another 2-3 years left in him. He is a very good rebounder and solid shooter.
We need a interior defender like Daniel Gifford. He is a rim runner, rim protector big man who could come off the bench for Sengun. Jock Landale and 2 2nds for Daniel Gifford
We desperately need a interior defender. Jonathan Issac is a rim runner, rim protector but also a perimeter defender for his size. I would trade 2 2nds, Tate and Bullock for Jonathan Issac….Stone, please
If we were to go after a Bulls player, perhaps Patrick Williams would be a better target. But not sure he would be an upgrade over Jeff Green for this season, so it might be worth waiting until the off-season and seeing if we can make a move for him then. There aren't a lot of guys who offer a bit of rim protection, a bit of rebounding, can guard the perimeter, and can stick the 3 at least a little bit AND are happy to come off the bench. If you look at the stats, Landale/ Green combo might be as good as it gets in terms of backup bigs who can tick the aforementioned criteria. Ie, I don't see anyone out there who can do a bit of each of those things better than our current backups who would actually be available...
This is the crux of finding a big to go next to Sengun. Of those 4 factors, I think Jabari will grow into 3 of them. Other than getting a guy like Wemby or Chet, I think Jabari or Eason will end up being some of the better options next to Sengun. Will sacrifice the rim protection, but hopefully those two will be long term switchable 4s on defense.
The more I think about it the more Kelly Olynyk makes sense to me. Our biggest problem lately has been that the offense flounders when Sengun goes off the floor. Olynyk is not a Sengun-level offensive player, but he's far better than Landale, and provides some of the same things we get from Alpi. Kelly has become a better and better passer with age and has the third-best assist rate per 36 minutes among centers this season. He's a threat to drive when he has the ball on the perimeter, and like Alpi, he can often find the right pass when he does so. He can also space the floor and knock down threes. He is already only playing 20mpg with a bad team this season, so I'd imagine he'd be fine with doing the same for us. Utah owns Minnesota's 2025 first round pick unprotected, so how about Oladipo + a pick swap (our 2025 pick for Minny's) and maybe a second rounder if that doesn't quite get it done?
I'm not knee jerking here over Jalen's play tonight as I've been saying this before this game but want to toss it out here in the trade forum. Who would make this trade? Rockets Out: - Jalen Green - '24 Nets Pick - '26 Nets Pick - Filler? Rockets In: - Mikal Bridges New Lineup: PG - VanVleet / Holiday / Thompson SG - Bridges / Whitmore SF - Brooks / Eason PF - Smith / Green ..C - Sengun / Landale Rockets should improve on both ends of the floor with a solid vet in Bridges who is still not yet in his prime (27) and Brooklyn would have control of this year and their '26 pick. Nets naturally would tank this year and probably end up in Top 5.
Why tf would we trade a 21yo for a 27yo who is barely, if even, better than the 21yo. Not to mention all the assets. Terrible effing trade, regardless of how bad jalen played tonight.
