Dude got that dawg in him. And he's undersized so he has to go even harder, you feel me?

Besides knowing when to step up, he’s funny, and everyone respects and listens to him, almost like an extension of the head coach on the court. Just what a young and raw talented team needs.

I think his shot selection could be better. But sometimes he takes bad* shots and they go in. So who knows, maybe it's a good part of his game.

    * bad as in: early in the shotclock, contested off the dribble, etc.

But even with that, his game management is huge for us. He helps us not suffer 10-0 runs from the other team.

He does a lot of things well, but im really liking His feel for playing pg and ability to hit big shots.

He doesnt have to come down and dribble the air out of the ball to rack up assists. He gets into the offense quickly and is lets other initiate throughout the game while he plays off ball.

KPJ is a better shooter and was clutch last season at times. You can have the rest.

the fact that he eliminated the pointless space between Van and Vleet and is just VanVleet.

    Very economical.

Knowing when to step up and pick his spots. He's fine not touching the ball at times when other guys have it going.

But honestly everything, even though that's a lame answer. I never watched a lot of Toronto so I hadn't seen him play much outside of the random game here and there plus his outrageous finals performance when they won it all. His efficiency is really my only complaint, obviously you'd like that to be better, but whatever. If he was a 60%+ TS player then he would probably an all-star and not on this team.

The combination of Ime's vision for letting the pass lead to the pass plus Fred's willingness and ability to initiate the offense early is a perfect combination. Fred has a great situational awareness and always has a pulse on the game. There's things that won't show up on a stat sheet that makes FVV worth his contract to this specific Rockets team in this phase of their rebuild.
