Winning 2 of 3 in Texas was enough to put doubt in the Rangers minds. A loss today would hurt with JV on the mount and Framber for game #6 but I feel very good with Javier going game #7 if need be
Yes. I'm sure the reason for regression is pitch framing and not, you know, Verlander leaving in free agency; McCullers and then Garcia being lost for the season; Urquidy missing several months... No, no - it's pitch framing that's the issue........
Seems obvious but once they fell behind, 0-2, the priority was getting to 2 before they got to 3. 3-0 or 3-1 is a death knell. 2-3 is not preferable, obviously - but, ON PAPER, having games 6 & 7 at home with Framber and Javier is - again ON PAPER - an advantage. It's so weird to be incredibly confident they'll win today, and then have literally no idea how they'll do needing only to win 1 of 2 at home...
Kind of frustrating to think that if we made some timely hits in game 1 & 2 this would have been a sweep.
I believe if the Astros win today then there wouldn't be a repeat of the Nationals WS losing the last 2 at home. Odds of that happening are extremely low so I'll continue to believe
All the non-HR by Astros that would be a HR in at least 1 MLB park. Game 1) Bregman 8th inning 2/30 Game 3) Altuve 1st inn. 13/30 Brantley 3rd inn 1/30 Altuve 5th inning 12/30 Yordan 6th inning 22/30 Dubon 6th inning 4/30 Bregman 9th inn 18/30 Tucker 9th inn 1/30 Game 4) Yordan 4th inn 17/30 Altuve 8th inn 24/30
Feels great to be right back in this thing, but tonight's game can still change everything. Playoffs at its most significant and intense. I still feel down about the dropping the first two games the way that we did, especially Game 2, and if that created an insurmountable climb to finish the series on top after it's all said and done. C'mon champs...I believe.
Imagine demoralizing your opponent enough to have them question winning a game at home.... only for them to have to go on the road the final two games. Astros accomplished this.
I'm surprised we don't have a "I've grown to hate..." or "I've grown tired of Framber Valdez" thread going with all this verbal diarrhea spewed towards him.
I am sure you know but just to make sure you don't miss it...tonight's game is actually a matinee that starts in an hour.
I don't deny any of this (concerning production slipping). I agree with you that it would seem that he could provide a lot of his value as as a coach. However - Verlander, Valdez, Javier and Pressly disagree. I say that because Diaz is light years better as a hitter and defender. Verlander/Valdez/Javier/Pressly all want to win and they would not want someone in the lineup that is clearly an inferior hitter and defender.
