Understood, but it's at the discretion of the official scorer. I've seen the pitcher who completed the 4th inning get the W because the next pitcher gave up runs in the 5th. But never the 3rd. Plus Brown pitched 3 scoreless. It's a no brainer. I sure hope y'all don't think it's cast in stone that what you stated is an actual rule.
Shoutout to Brown and Maton. They gave us much needed innings (multi-style) and balled out. Hunter gets more experience and his confidence should increase going forward. Maton, if you didn't know, lowers his playoff ERA of 1.00 in 18 innings. This game was exactly what we needed. Offense slugging and the bullpen got rest. Best of 3 now, baby!! And don't be surprised if Arlington doesn't win another game.
