Let's see how well you would handle being 77 years old, being 60 lbs. over weight........ consuming McDonald's and Arby's every day....... campaigning 5 days a week...... fending off criminal charges and keeping your sexual partners a secret from your wife that is half your age...... all while being on a plane multiple times a day. That has to be exhausting.

In general it isn't a good idea for a man to follow a woman that he doesn't know off a bus and continuing to follow her as she attempts to get away. Just saying, maybe a little perspective would go a long way -

First, the data on single parent households in the middle of the 20th century is unreliable.

Second, it’s true that single parent households increased for blacks since 1964 but they’ve increased even more for white people. That suggests a cause unrelated to any legislation and more related to a change in social mores.

 

I have to say I never made that comparison but the similarities are now obvious.......

 

I am someone that is critical of parts of The Great Society - indeed in places like Chicago, some of the rules to qualify for benefits, meant the father could not live in the home.... because they would make too much income or would not qualify in other ways. So NO - it wasn't perfect.

However ..... I don't know how to say this any other way....... "Black families survived slavery" ......... that is completely false in an overwhelming number of cases. In many cases slaves were sold and traded like baseball cards..... families were ripped apart.
