Need help coming up with questions.

    hey guys and gals,

    i would like your help in developing interesting questions i could ask a group. here's some background.

    i'm a chair for the Rotoract club of River Oaks. it's a club sponsored by the Rotary that promotes community service activities and consist of people ages 18-30. we participate in at least one activity a month.

    we're trying to come up with ideas to make our meetings a little less formal now. my idea was a "Question of the day." basically, the premise is to ask a personal question that would get members to open up and possibly have others relate to them. this way, new members see the club as more than just a club and make it easier to build relationships with current members.

    for instance, i've come up with "what's your biggest regret" and "tell us something you feel no one would have guessed about you." i've got a couple more but pretty much stumped after that. i don't want to ask questions that seem like you're on a job interview nor do i want to get too personal ala "tell us about your last therapy session." :) something in the middle would be perfect.

    by the way, if you're interested in joining, please let me know. not only would you feel good about yourself, but it looks awesome on your resume too. ;)

    This is what you do. Think of your favorite memories in life, and think up a question that would lead you to talk about it. Here is a bad example, I always remember how Gramma would force me to eat her fruit pudding at Chtistmas, I had to pretend I liked it, and then she
    d think I liked it so much she would send me home with more. Well, you could develop a question out of that. And I guarantee you everyone will have a story just like it they can tell. We often forget our memories because nobody thinks to ask about 'em. This is a good way to devlop some standup as well.
