Things that sucked: Play calling Interior OL We got gifted one td by a badly missed block in the back on a return and then Harris turned in a rare clunker with those 3 bad picks. If that game is played 10 times we win maybe twice. But a win is a win, and I'll take it.
This. It was a bad game, but the team did not beat themselves. And that really was a major improvement. On the negative side. - We still suck at the run, 1 yard cloud of dust. -The offense has no explosiveness and stuttered. On the plus side: - Smith has an arm. - Defense made tackles.
I was not all that impressed with Donovan Smith. Everything he did just seemed a touch too slow. Slow reads, slow scrambles, slow release. Granted he has a cannon of an arm, but I don't think I saw him hit a single touch pass the entire game. Everything was a rocket, and not particularly accurate either. I hope he can turn it around because we missed Tune pretty badly. Also, the running back rotation was strange. Mathis, Sneed, and Campbell seemed to split duty almost perfectly even. It was impossible to judge them since the run blocking was so terrible.
