Especially when maga types (who oddly never observed all of trump's golf times) are counting weekends as "Biden going on vacation"...

RNC counted bidens visit to Camp David as "vacation" bcz he wasn't at the WH. He signed one of the most important vital agreement for USA in decades at Camp David and yet RNC counted it as a vacation lol

At some point as a society we will learn the republican party is nothing other than a joke and filled with nothing other than domestic terrorists

I mean at some point something has to break right? The republican party has to come to their senses at some point right? How long can they go with being filled with nothing other than low iq dipshit morons?

No - they don’t have to come to their senses, there are cases of political parties around the globe not coming to their senses and then consolidating power and running nations for many decades. They fall on both sides of the political perspective.

What makes me a little optimistic is that we tend to forget how volatile American politics were in the past.

There was Rutherford B Hayes in 1876 and a likely stolen election and governors and electors doing very shady things. Half the country believed the election was stolen, and it wasn’t until after WWI before Americans again believed in political institutions.

There was the Civil War and soldiers being forced to vote for Lincoln and one half of the country having so little faith in their country that they tried to break away.

We had court packing attempts by FDR and we had Adams and Hamilton and Jefferson all trying to cheat one another.

The difference is that outside of Nixon, post WWII the US was largely viewed as not politically compromised- even then it wasn’t entirely true - Nixon … the Chicago machine in Illinois and mafia controlled local and state politics …. Missouri and Louisiana politically were controlled by mobsters.

So let’s hope it gets better and there is a return to electing intelligent and enlightened men and women - but there is always a chance it doesn’t happen.

The thing that Republicans dont get is ALOT of minorities like myself arent into the culture wars that Dems push. We dont agree with alot of the LGBTQ hardcore stances that activists push or the defund the police. The GOP could make so much inroads with hispanics and minorities that they could literally dominate the US political landscape. They just need to have a basic econonic agenda that minorities can relate to.

The issue is that the party is controlled by crazy racist ****ers who are kryptonite to minorities like myself. Lots of my family and friends are upper class muslims who would otherwise vote Republican but the racist MAGA rhetoric turns them off so much that they cant even think about. Most minorities and hispanics have dealt with racism at some point of their lives and its a personal issue for many of us.

Its just funny how Muslims, arabs, asians all still overwhelmingly vote democrat and its simply bcz of the racism.

I wish the former guy had taken four years of vacation. The fact that half of his day was blocked off for executive time may have saved the nation.

Go start a fire in your house and put it out 20 minutes later.

Let me know how it goes.

We had four years of an in enlightened and corrupt man as President and yes it can happen again. Our system was very stressed but it did hold up even as his supporters were beating LEO to stop certification of the election.

Our system is vulnerable though but the past few years have given me some hope that there are enough Americans who are willing to preserve our system of a democratic republic.

That said this is an ongoing effort and we never should take for granted our system. That’s why I will and encourage others to get engaged. Campaign, donate, volunteer and most importantly VOTE.

There are certainly Democrats who push culture war issues but I think it is far more Republicans that do.

How many here even heard of Dylan Mulvaney until a bunch of conservatives got upset that Bid Light made a special Dylan Mulvaney can? How many here cared or even noticed that Buzz Lightyear had a same sex couple until a bunch of conservatives started getting worked up about it?

Just take a look at the threads here about Transgender and see who and what content the vast majority of those are?

The one big culture war issue that Democrats are pushing currently is abortion. So far that’s going Democrats way. Outside of Florida I don’t think fear of trans people is winning elections.

He lost his wife and child in a car accident. He may not know much about the Maui fire victims, but he does know sudden loss.

Heaven forbid someone attempt to show empathy while also acknowledging their experience doesn’t compare in scale. What a jerk Joe Biden is.

He has more empathy than Trump, but it's still cringey to be talking about almost losing your Corvette when you are in a disaster zone where hundreds have just died.

Old people tell stories man. That’s just what they do. It’s not the political landscape game changing moment you are hoping for.
